Racing into the school, I was forced to stop not more than 6 feet in. The Last Day Fog was what everyone called this...this concoction. Apparently, some previous 1s had gotten some smart kids to make some kind of fog in the chem lab--back when AW was good enough to have a chem lab--and they'd used it to play pranks. No one had thought to to use it for such horrible plans as the Last Day, however, until the Last Day that broke my brother.

The story goes that the fog was set off and it quickly--quicker than you'd think possible--blanketed everything. The 1s had set canisters of it in the vents, I believe.

Anyway, after a few minutes, no one could see their own hand in front of their face; it was that bad. I think those same smart kids had also created some kind of gel or cream that you could put on your eyes to keep the fog from blinding you completely. On a different note, I wonder what school they're at now; I mean, that's like Nobel Prize smart right? But back to the situation at hand.

On the Last Day, kids were absolutely freaking out. Some ran towards where they thought the doors were so they could escape this hell hole, sure they'd be the one hurt. Some, the more negative ones, ran off to fight or actually hurt whoever they wanted to with free reign. Without sight, no one could go back and tell their 1 or 2 who hit them; no one had to worry about consequences like what happened with Derek earlier. It was pretty much a Purge but inside a school and with zero way of knowing if you were a target or not.

Myself? Oh I already knew for a fact that I'd be targeted.

Someone actually died the last time the idiots pulled this stunt so I was sure someone would be really harmed this time, maybe even more than one. Eddy would be unchecked, unrestrained, and off on his own right now. Doing whatever he wanted to whoever he wanted.

Rocky was even known to intimidate some girls into doing things for him.

This fog was spelling out disaster already.

Though I couldn't see anything, I was sure of where I was as I had just ran inside. That being the case, I quickly backtracked until I was right back outside. I pulled out my phone and noticed I had a text from Wil.

Wil: Last Day Fog's rolling in. I'm in the library; I was working on the computer, setting up a link to the hospital so you could check on your dad. There's a lady there with a little boy and they've both been crying for the last 10 minutes, by the way.

Me: Stay in the library. The lady's my dad's wife, I think. I'll tell you about her later. I'm going to find our followers and herd them into the library for safety's sake.

I was getting ready to put my phone in my pocket and charge back in when my phone alerted me to another text.

North: Sang Baby where the fuck did you go?!

I bit my lip unsure whether I wanted to text him back right now. I didn't have time for them all to worry about me.

Still.....his concern was nice.

Me: I'm fine North Star. Can all of you go to the library? I'll meet you there.

Technically, it was not a lie. I was planning on going to the library. But only as a stopping point so I could drop off more and more of my followers.

My body was vibrating with anxious energy as i stepped foot to foot wanting to dash back inside already.

Wil: I'll stay in the library just because I know you need your energy on finding our people. We have a total of 63 in attendance today; most of the rest went home before lunch or didn't show up at all because they were worried Last Day really would happen. I can see if I can tap into the school's electronic venting system and turn on the air conditioner to blow out the fog but with what it's made of, it'll--at most--only make it a bit easier to see through. It won't go completely away at all.
