Skylar's POV
"Mommy play hide & seek with me" Katie tugged my shirt
"I can't Sweetie, I have homework, you can do coloring or I'll put a spiderman movie or play with your dolls"
She glared at me with her small hazel eyes "Ohk" she pouted and grabbed a paper and some wax crayons and sat beside me, started coloring Katie's best habit is that she doesn't color on walls she only loves coloring on paper and that reduces a little more headache
"Good girl" I ruffled her hair
"Noooo" she shouted and I pulled my hand away, well I really feel bad for not copying my notes during the lecture but I just can't stop texting Betty about her and I have to complete atleast 2 assignments this week and find a new job, I have already applied at various cafe's and grocery stores and even restaurants that are hiring teenagers, I hope I get lucky and get a job which pays me decent amount of money because next year Katie is gonna start pre school so I'll be needing a lot of money.
"Hey Katie" Liam bursted in my house and high fived with her "Hey Sky whatcha doing ?"
"Completing my assignment what are you doing here ?"
"I was free so I thought I would spend time with my favorite little girl and I brought some snacks" he waved the plastic bag in the air
"Thanks pass me some doritos and leave please"
"Katie wanna go to park with me ?"
"Yess uncle Liam" she squealed and wrapped her arms around his neck "Bye mommy" she waved me
"Bye sweetie take care" I waved back "Finally" I sighed and continued my work, suddenly my phone rang and I picked it up without seeing the ID "Hello ?"
"Hey Sky how are you ?" My mom said in her high pitch voice
"I'm Good how are you?" I fake smiled though she can't see me
"I'm perfect how's my granddaughter ?"
"She's also good, where are you ?" I said because I heard a lot of voices behind her maybe of ocean or people or seagulls that points to one thing she's on a holiday
"Bahamas, Richy is having a business trip here and Brian and Kayden are also here, I wish you were also here" she sighed
"Stop it okay, I know, I'm not your favorite kid since the day I was born, if you loved me you would have let me stay with you in that mansion and not left me alone with my asshole drunk dad from the starting" I didn't yell because I respect her enough but that doesn't mean I don't hate her
"Stop yelling" she yelled though I didn't yell she knows I'm angry "I'm your mother and I send you money every month"
"No, Richy sends me money every month, he's more like a father to me, he comes here in every 6 months and on every birthday of Katie and I haven't seen you in last 5 years and same with my stepbrothers they atleast visit me doesn't matter how much they get annoyed by me"
"Whatever Richy wants to talk to you" I can imagine her rolling her eyes
"Hey how are my little girls doing ?" He asked me
"Hey, I'm good and so is Katie, how's your holiday going ?"
"Its more like a headache to me but I would love if you were here, actually you can after Bahamas we're planning on going to Maldives for another meeting of mine"
"No, I don't think soo, I don't want interrupt your family holiday"
"Hey you're my daughter, Katie is my granddaughter and you both are my family, I still hate you for not living in LA with us" I really love my step father he's really kind and caring he loves us and thats what's important to me "I am gonna book your flights and all the things we're gonna have a great time"
"Thank you, Katie would love to come and I also need a holiday" I don't even remember a proper holiday, after she was born she was my first priority
"Perfect, by the way I came to know about your job"
"Who told you ?"
"Walton, he's closing his cafe and he almost fired everyone, poor guy, but don't worry I'll help you find a job after our holiday, bye Sky"
"Bye" I hanged up and rubbed my temples its so irritating, I mean my mom is irritating, well she never was a mom,my dad raised me most of the time but she loved me back then and after she left us he started drinking and lost his temper and later he also left, I don't know where he is and I don't even know if he's alive or not but whatever I also sold our old house which was bigger than this one but I don't have anything there instead of hate and sadness ,I settled here in my small house with my daughter, I never actually told dad about my pregnancy ,he left when I was 20 weeks pregnant and my baby bump was hardly visible I was skinny as hell

"Her sisters and mother bad"
"Yaa her stepsisters and stepmother was bad but she found her love and they lived happily ever after" I scrunched my nose
"You love daddy?" She asked me,with a sad face
"I loved your daddy that a past tense" I nodded "but I don't love him now"
"Where is daddy ?"
"He's far from us, he'll never come back I guess" I shrugged "Now sleep its past your bedtime okay" I kissed her forehead "Good night sweetie"
"Good night mommy" I smiled and left her room
