I quickly shoved myself off Ace's body and stood up, offering my hands down to him. He accepted and let me help him up, brushing us both down he looked towards my parents. I turned and saw my father fanning my mother's face as he looked on at us, disgust clear on his face."Rochelle! Are you going to explain yourself?!" He almost shouted.
"Oh dear, not in the street." My mother started. "People will talk."
Before my father could reply she continued. "Rochelle, get rid of this," she paused and waved her arm towards Ace. " of this boy and come with us inside now."
They began to turn to walk back in the direction of our house as I turned to Ace. He looked almost disheartened as I felt his hand slowly begin to let mine go. I quickly gripped it tight and turned back to my parents.
"No."
They both stopped and turned back to us.
"Rochelle you will come inside with us."
"No I won't."
Ace gently tugged on my hand trying to get my attention but I let it go and moved standing in front of him.
"I won't go inside without him."
"Rochelle you will do as you're-"
"I will not." I snapped, interrupting them.
"Whether you like it or not I will not be going inside your house without my fiancée."
Well that did it.
My mother almost pulled my father down with her as she almost dropped to the floor.
"Rochelle please, you're upsetting your mother. Now come inside and we can talk about this."
"Not without him." I stood firm on my decision.
"Fine fine, let's just take this off the street." My father said as he helped my mother to her feet.
Her face showed disgust and disappointment in my father agreeing to let Ace inside but she allowed him to help carry her towards the house.
I turned and looked at Ace.
"Princess I'm not ready for this." He started. "Like they very clearly hate me and your mums ready to flat out strangle my ass!"
I laughed slightly as I placed my hands on his waist, leaning up and planting a gentle kiss on his lips.
"We're a team remember."
He gave me another kiss and gripped my hand tightly as I helped him along the road following behind my parents as we walked closer and closer to my house.
The nearer we got the tighter I felt Ace grip onto me. I knew he was nervous, probably just as nervous as I was. Feeling the knot in my stomach get tighter and tighter we arrived at my house.
My mother and father walked through the door and left it open for me and Ace. I stopped and turned to him.
"You ready?" I asked.
He paused and looked between me and the door.
"Have I got any other choice?"
I shrugged slightly. "We could run?"
"I can't make you do that. You're gonna need your parents. You're dads supposed to be the one who gives you away to me yet right now he's trying to get you away from me."
I shook my head. "Well it's not going to happen don't worry. I want him to give me away and I want my mother there too but I'm not going anywhere." I said, giving him another quick kiss.
