I pushed myself harder and harder to run faster and faster. I knew my dad would ensure he spoke to Donna's dad that night. I begged and prayed she wouldn't spill the beans on Ace.

Please lord, don't let her tell.

I kept running and running until I was struggling. I slowed to a stop and took a few deep breaths.

I slowly started walking as I looked around. There was a long row of shops and a few people walking along. I continued taking deep breaths as I walked further. As I passed people they gave me strange looks. It hurt. But then again. I was strange to them.

I was out of place.

I didn't belong.

I shook it off as I walked into the blue point diner, the place I'd been with my parents not so long ago. People soon stopped staring as I walked up to the counter.

"Alright love, what can I get yah?" The guy behind the counter asked.

I felt myself stumble over my words before I took a deep breath and looked up at him.

"I'm looking for Ace Merrill."

"Why?" A voice beside me spoke up.

I turned to see a younger boy, he had really short blonde hair that stuck up. He couldn't have been older than 13. His shirt was clearly meant to be white but was covered in grass and dirt stains.

"Do you know where I can find him?" I asked, ignoring his question.

"Yeah. You hiding from him or something? A bit of a new low scaring a girl, even for him." The young boy muttered, facing away.

I shook my head. "He doesn't scare me."

The boy turned his head to me quickly.

"So you're not utterly repulsed by his attitude to women?"

I shrugged slightly but shook my head quickly.

"Look, can you tell me where he is or not?"

The boy nodded slowly.

"You're best bet is at Irbys. Two blocks down, on your right."

I smiled and nodded.

"Thanks."

Just as I turned and was about to rush off I returned to face the boy. I slowly offered out my hand.

"Rochelle Winters."

He looked confused at my hand for a split second before offered his, shaking mine, firmly but still soft.

"Chris Chambers."

Chambers. Chambers?

My puzzled look caused him to grin.

"Yeah. I'm Eyeball's kid brother."

I nodded slowly.

"Well your politer than your brother." I said quickly with a wink.

He laughed and nodded as he let my hand go. I gave him one last quick smile before rushing out. I began the walk down the street before I saw a murky looking building with a red sign in the window. Irbys. Gotcha.

I quickly flung the door open and stumbled inside. Damn. It was a bar. A bar that clearly didn't know what a light was, it was dark and murky. Cigarette smoke flew around in waves as various men drank about and played billiards.

Granted I drew quite a lot of attention being a young female, wearing rather right clothing. Yet I'd never felt safer than when I saw that flash of colour. Just as I saw Charlie tap his shoulder I couldn't stop myself from rushing up to him. Just as the tall blonde turned to face me, I reached him and instantly leapt up and wrapped my arms around his neck tightly.
