The food fight crisis...

It took Kate days before she could walk down the hall without having her limbs rebel against her. Not that it meant she was actually getting the hang of it. Her movements were choppy and awkward, much to her annoyance, and dinner was always a disaster.

And this time, it was no different.

Kate glared at her fork which somehow made its way to the other side of the room, embedded into the far wall. She could have sworn she heard Asraen snicker but refused to look at either of them. Instead she directed her attention to the cup of water sitting in front of her....mocking her.

Slowly she reached out and awkwardly grasped the cup. Refusing to lose this battle she shakily raised it to her lips. Her hand along with the cup shook violently and water jumped over the rim and onto her half eaten dinner. Another spasm shook her hand and this time the cup fell, hitting the edge of the table and rolling pitifully across the ground. This time Kate didn't hold back the screech of rage.

Naturally Asraen burst out laughing.

This only served to infuriate her further and without another thought she threw the closest thing available at him.

The laughter stopped as Asraen blinked at her, some half-eaten squash dripping down his cheek. Before Kate could react a wet gunk of overcooked potatoes hit her forehead with a Splat, slowly sliding down her face.

And so the fifth food fight that week commenced.

Divur helplessly stared as food was flung back and forth and wondered how he had ever ended up there.

"You can't even lift a cup of water but you seem capable enough of throwing food at me!" Asraen yelled as he dodged a slice of tomato.

"Shut up! Maybe if you weren't so childish I wouldn't be throwing things at you!" Kate yelled back.

Asraen narrowed his eyes at her before scooping up food from Divur's plate and hurling it at her. "You started it first!"

"You laughed at me!"

"You're a brat!"

"You're mean!"

SStop! Divur hissed as he slammed his fist down on the table. They both stopped to look at him and Kate could have sworn she saw the steam come out of his ears. You two are both acting like bickering bratss. Back in my day creaturess ate at the table, they did NOT throw their food at each other! Now you two will mend your differencess and clean up thiss messss! And no more food figthsss!

With that Divur walked away with a huff, muttering under his breath something about children and table manners.

Kate watched Divur walk away, feeling a pang of guilt before turning to glare at Asraen. "It's all your fault!"

He pointed at himself. "My fault?! You're the one with anger management issues."

A small spasm shook her frame, cutting off her retort. Asrean was already at her side holding her shoulder in order to steady her. He looked away from her, pressing his lips into a scowl. "Let's start cleaning up." He said quietly letting go of her.

They both took their places at the opposite sides of the room. Silently they both began to pick up the remnants of their food fight.

After a couple of minutes of silent cleaning Kate felt the anger and frustration drain out of her. She glanced at Asrean who was currently trying to wipe off some squash from the wall and then looked down at her lap. "I'm sorry about throwing food at you." She finally forced out, for once swallowing her pride.

Silence met her words and she peeked at him from under lowered lashes. He stood with his back to her having come to a complete stop at her words. She spoke quickly before he could respond. "And I'm sorry for being a brat and for snapping at you. Oh and for kicking you yesterday....and tackling you to the ground that other day."
