"I never took you for the reading type."

"I'm not. At last not with old musty textbooks. I prefer a good thriller." Finally she looked up, pushing the book towards him. "I've been trying to find more information on the Western Temple. According to the local historians, it was one of the many locations where Necromancers operated."

"What are you getting at?" Asraen asked and at Kate's pointed look began to shake his head. "No. I know that look of yours little necromancer....-You are not going! In case you didn't know, that place is swarming with rogue demons. You can't possibly fight them yourself!"

"Of course I'm not going alone. You're coming with me." She retorted back.

He gaped at her. "Oh no. Are you mad?!I'm not dying just because You have a death wish!"

Kate rose quickly. "If you come with me, I assure you that the rewards will be beyond the imagination."

Asraen paused. "Rewards?"

Taking a deep breath, Kate spoke quickly before he could change his mind. "Doesn't it seem strange to you that of all places, those creatures come and go from that place? It may or not be connected to the necromancers but either way we might find a clue as to why the number of necromancers has been dwindling. Besides, according to the texts every temple had its own treasury."

That go his attention. "Well if we do go," he said slowly. "What makes you so sure the treasury won't be gone already?'

"From what I've read and heard not many,if any, dared to venture into that place. That treasury probably hasn't been touched for centuries." Kate could see the wheels turning in his head.

"The western temple is a two day journey from here."

Kate grinned up at him. "Well we better get going."

He groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose. "You're not going to change your mind, are you?"

"Nope." Seeing the glimmer of indecision in his eyes Kate spoke. "I've trained with you for over a year now. I'm very capable in protecting myself and you know it. Besides this will benefit everyone. I'll get my answers, you'll get your treasury and everyone can peacefully hang out at the market without worrying about demon attacks." Kate set the book down and began walking towards the door. "I'll let you think about it. I need to check in with Vidur to see what's for dinner."

It wasn't until the late hours in which Asraen finally came to her. Kate opened the door to find Asraen standing with a long black box in his arms. "What is it?" She asked.

"I've been thinking," He started slowly. "Your training has improved vastly but the incident at the troll market made me realize that I haven't prepared you properly. You can't always rely on your magic. Which is why I had these made for you a couple of weeks ago. And this is the time to give them to you."

Kate gaped at the two long daggers, no longer than her forearm, that lay within. Gingerly she picked one up, watching its surface catch the warm light of the overhanging lamps.

"They are mainly used for attacking since you tend to use your magic as a defense." Asraen explained. "They are very light and can be easily hidden."

"Thank you." She murmured. And she meant it, happy to call a weapon as her own.

He nodded at the blade in her hand. "Now that you mastered the basics with a wooden sword, you needed your own weapon. It'll come in handy for our journey to the Western Temple."

Her gaze snapped up to his. "We're going?"

'"We're leaving tomorrow. We'll travel by shadow for half of it but then we'll have to go on foot. Unless you have any concerns or-"
