"Let me go!"

Asraen gripped her forearm in a steel grip "Where do you think you're going?"

"I'm going to go find Eloise. That bitch needs to die!" Kate snarled. She attempted to twist her arm away from his grip but he held on, a frown of annoyance pulling on his lips.

"What makes you so sure that it was Eloise who did this?" He asked.

She glared at him. "And you don't think it was her?" He sighed in exhasperation but said nothing, confirming her suspicions. "See? You and I both know the truth."

"Wait," he said as he yanked her back. "We know it was her but don't be so foolish. The moment you step on their territory, you'll be destroyed without a second thought. Your so called comrades will happily cut off your head and parade it around as a trophy."

Her shoulders slumped in defeat. "Then what the hell am I supposed to do?"

"You take revenge." He said simply. Startled by his statement Kate looked up at him. "But you need to do it at the right time," he continued. "Train to become faster, stronger....deadlier. Train until you're practically unbeatable. It is then in which you can go in a take your revenge."

"You sound like you've done it before." She commented.

Asraen flashed her a feral grin and a shudder ran down her spine at his expression. "Many say revenge gains you nothing but that's not true. It is satisfying to see the fear in their eyes, to see death in their eyes only to realize it is you their are reflecting."

Kate didn't know how to respond, somewhat disturbed by this new and darker side of Asraen. She wasn't sure if she liked it....and yet, the memories of her past life flashed before her eyes. Her friends, her parents all taken away from her. Even those cherished memories weren't spared. Anger slowly boiled into hate at the thought of Eloise and Kate found herself gripping the front of his shirt, sharp nails digging into his flesh. "Teach me." She finally blurted. "Teach me how to be strong and fast, show me how to get my revenge."

He gazed down at her with newfound respect and admiration, much to her astonishment. "It will be as you wish."

~~~*~~~*~~~
Kate whirled to her right, barely dodging the blade as it sliced through the air only inches from her neck.
She retialited by sending out an arc of black flames.
A dark blur easily shot through, sharp teeth flashing in the light as Asraen gave her a smirk. "Too predictable." He taunted her.
Kate grinned back and flicked back her wrist, pulling the flames back. They hit him from behind and he toppled forward, instantly merging with the shadows.
Just as quickly he emerged from her left, casually leaning against the wall. "Or maybe not. "
Swoosh!
Her eyes widened slightly as she also faded into the shadows, managing to barely escape the sharp blade. She only felt a pinprick of cold as she sailed through the mist before reappearing behind him. The screech of metal against metal was both grating and exhilarating to her ears.
Twirling her dagger around she brought a knee up and he instinctively crouched down. With a triumphant smile Kate then proceeded to bring down the but of her dagger into the back of his shoulder.
Unceremoniously he collapsed with a grunt. "Much better."
"You think so?" Kate asked as she offered him her hand.
Before she could react, he grabbed her hand and pulled her down with him. She found herself staring up at him, a sharp blade pressed against her neck.
