The room was dark, cold and silent..... too silent. Fear began to crawl all over her, causing the hairs at the back of her neck to rise. What type of exam was this?

Slowly she stood up, shaking hands fumbling to find the wall. She finally found it, the wall was rough and humid to the touch, like as it was made out of stone. So cold. The sudden smell hit her nostrils, making her shudder away from the scent of rotten meat and of pungent waste. Kate shivered and then froze when she heard someone or something scuffling in the room a couple feet from her.

"Hello?" Kate's voice cracked and her frame started to shake in fear. Whatever it was, it was seriously freaking her out.

The sounds stopped. Maybe it's a rat. Kate thought but that didn't ease her nervousness. Everything was just too freaky...

Suddenly a high-pitched inhuman screech resonated through the room. Kate curled herself into a little ball, her hands covering her ears, trying to leave out that horrible sound. And just as suddenly it stopped. Gingerly she took away her shaking hands away from her ears. Kate couldn't see anything, it was too dark.

My cellphone... Kate realized. With shaking hands she reached into her right pocket. She flipped it open in front of her, hoping to see anything.

A face appeared, only a couple of inches in front of Kate. It's skin was gray and black and in some places it was falling off in clumps of dead skin. Its eyes were two large hollow holes, pitch black which were staring straight at her. It stared at her silently for a couple of moments before it opened its mouth, the skin around its non-existing lips cracking and flaking off revealing long jagged sharp teeth, some of them stained with dry blood. The same inhuman screech came and her phone clattered to the ground, leaving her in pitch blackness with that thing.

She screamed.
