Prologue: The Legend of The Crescent Moon God, Xin Yue

"Yu'er!" An old woman wearing a loose old dress was holding a slipper in her other hand, looking furious.

"COME OUT YOU UNFILIAL GRANDSON! I WILL SMACK YOU TEN TIMES! YOU BETTER BE THANKFUL THAT IT'S NOT ONE HUNDRED SMACKS!"

No one answered. The elderly lady frowned even more and gripped her slipper even tighter. "YU'ER!!!"

"GRANDMA!!! CALM DOWN!!! PUT THE SLIPPER DOWN, LET'S TALK ABOUT THIS!" Yelled a boy who appeared to be ten to eleven years old, curled up in a corner with a scared expression.

"WHAT THE HECK ARE DOING UNDER THE TABLE! COME OUT! I WON'T KILL YOU!" The old woman yelled while approaching the boy who was hiding under the table.

"GAAAAHHHHH! I HATE ASIAN PARENTS! GOD, TELEPORT ME TO THE WESTERN COUNTRY! RIGHT NOW!" The boy yelled under the table while his grandmother was pulling his feet out from the table.

"GRANDMA, CALM DOWN! OLD HAGS DIE EARLY WHEN THEY'RE STRESSED!" The boy yelled out.

"YOU UNFILIAL GRANDSON! WHAT TIME IS IT?! IT'S NOON! STOP PLAYING VIDEO GAMES AND GO TO SLEEP!"

"GRANDMA! KIDS DIE EARLY WHEN THEY SLEEP TOO MUCH!"

"THIS FUCKING-GO TO SLEEP! DON'T MAKE LAME EXCUSES!" The old woman shouted and spanked the boy's butt cheeks with a large force.

"IT HURTSSSSSSSS!!! I'M DYING!!! I'M DYING!!! I'M BLEEDING SO MUCH!" The boy yelled out in pain while his grandmother spanked him ten times with her hard and large slippers.

"DON'T BE DRAMATIC! THIS IS YOUR PUNISHMENT! YOU UNFILIAL GRANDSON! LOOK HOW SHORT YOU ARE BECAUSE YOU DON'T SLEEP! YOUR COUSIN IS MUCH TALLER THAN YOU! YOU'RE A DWARF!" The old woman yelled.

"FOR GOD'S SAKE GRANDMA! BLAME MOM AND DAD FOR MAKING ME THIS SHORT! IT'S NOT BECAUSE I DON'T SLEEP TOO MUCH!"

"GO TO SLEEP!" The old woman shouted, pointing at the boy's bedroom.

"WHEN I GROW UP, I'LL RUN AWAY AND LEAVE THIS HOUSE!!! I WON'T GIVE YOU MONEY! I SWEAR!!!" The boy cried out while he simply walked to the bed.

After a moment, the boy and his grandmother calmed down. The boy snuggled in his hugging pillow and spoke, "Grandma, tell me stories so I can sleep."

The old woman who was sweeping the floor arched her brows; she then put the broom away and went to her grandson's bed. "Then I'll tell you about a story that my mother always tells me. You better listen, unfilial grandson."

"Mm," The boy nodded.

Ever since the boy's father died in a ship-sink accident and his mother had a heart attack after, the boy was sent to his grandmother's house at the age of three. Even though he and his grandma always fight, they still love each other because his grandmother is the only remaining family he has. He had cousins and other relatives, but they never treated him like his grandmother does.

"A long time ago, there was a beautiful man who lived in the village that was built in the highest mountain. In that village, the large, bright moon was so visible to the point that it was as if that moon was always looking at them every time the sun went down."
