Chapter 30: Battle Arena Part 1
A few cracks and broken pillars were seen at the Moon Palace. The Moon God's eyes glowed white as she sat back on her throne, frowning. "Your short temper amuses me," the Sun God chuckled, brushing away the dust from his loose, plain robe.
"Get out." The Moon God spoke in a sharp tone.
The Sun God chuckled again and didn't listen to her. "I was just asking for your son's well-being. And this is how you responded? Look at your palace. I'll bring the high priests later to fix it."
"No need," the Moon God immediately replied.
"Liang'er——"
Countless crescent moon-shaped blades were pointed at the Sun God's throats in an instant. As she spoke in a sharp, threatening tone, the Moon God's eyes radiated a white glow that could be seen in the shadows. "Get out before I kill you, bastard. Don't you dare call my son with your filthy mouth? I don't care if you report this to the ancient gods. I don't care. Get out."
The Sun God's playful face had completely disappeared. His blood-red eyes radiated a golden glow, and the crescent moon-shaped blades were burned in an instant. "Alright, alright. I won't joke around anymore," the Sun God said in a deep tone.
The Moon God did not respond and remained seated on her throne. The Sun God's heavy footsteps echoed throughout the Moon Palace hall as he approached the Moon God's throne and leaned closer to her as he spoke, "Why did you let that thing live?"
The Moon God laughed in disbelief. "You're calling my son a thing? You have no right to even mention him in the first place."
"I did it back then for your sake." The Moon God was speechless at the Sun God's response.
"You tried to kill him for my sake, you say?" The Moon God slowly stood up, the white glow on her eyes brightened even more, and a thick white spiritual qi slowly flowed out of her body. "You dared to come here and say that straight to my face. Are you begging for your death?"
"You can't kill me," the Sun God replied with a grin. "I have contributed the most for the sake of the balance of the four realms. The ancient gods will be angered if I'm dead."
"That spot..." The spiritual qi slowly spread all over the hall as the Moon God spoke, "I can take it instead after your death."
The Sun God sighed and withdrew his face away from the Moon God. "You don't know what you're doing. Why did you keep that thing alive and make him your successor?"
"It's my decision," the Moon God replied in a sharp tone. "You have no right to interfere."
The Sun God stared at her for a while with a slight smile. His hand went to caress the moon god's face as he spoke. "You still love him, that child's father."
The Moon God slightly faltered on what the Sun God said. However, her face remained serene and straight, as if she didn't have any emotions at all. "Ahh, Liang'er. You may hide your emotions, but I know you too well. I have loved you for years, and I know every little thing you like and dislike. You can't escape from me even if you slept with every man in the world just to gain a successor."
