Chapter 48: The Revealed Truth Part 1
Amid the bustling Moon Palace, Xin Zianzi, Xin Wangji, and Xin Chunling waited for word on Xin Yue's location while dozens of servants were coming and going from a particular room. When the clergyman approached the main hall, sweatdrops kept trickling down his brow, giving the impression that he had just completed a labor-intensive task. When the clergyman appeared, Xin Chunling got up right away and talked while wearing a worried expression. "How is my brother? Is he fine? Will he gain his consciousness?"
The clergyman glanced at him and slowly bowed, "I apologize, Your Highness Xin Chunling but His Highness Xin Yue didn't respond to our divinity even though he was breathing. As if he was sealed into a deep sleep....."
Xin Chunling showed a slight smile and sat back in the long chair, "I see. Thank you for your hard work."
The clergyman flinched and bowed with a terrified expression, "I-I will take my leave now, Your Highness Xin Chunling." He also bowed and greeted Xin Zianzi and Xin Wangji before exiting Moon Palace.
Xin Chunling heaved a heavy breath and covered his face as soon as the clergyman was gone, "It's been three days..... We sent so many priests as we can but there's still no response..."
Xin Wangji also said, "Mother won't let us inside his room either because if our divinity got exposed to Xin Yue, his condition will get even worse."
Xin Zianzi sighed as she poured herself a cup of tea, she glanced at her troubled siblings and patted both of their heads, "It'll be fine like what Mother said. Don't worry too much. Fourth Brother is not that weak."
On the other hand, there were multiple books stacked on the floor within the Moon God's room. The paper scrolls that had been neatly put on the shelf were now wrinkled, and the tea that had been served on the little table was now cold. The Moon God was soaking in the breathtaking vista of the night sky when she heard a heavy footfall behind her, causing her to turn to face the visitor.
"Liang'er is so troubled tonight."
"......Jing Liuhuo." The Moon God, Xin Liang scowled and redirected her gaze at the sky, "Leave. It's inappropriate for the Sun God to trespass in another's palace."
However, Jing Liuhuo ignored her words and walked beside her, "l told you not to let that thing live. Look how trouble he was doing to you right now."
"That is none of your business." Xin Liang said with a sharp tone. "Leave." She demanded with a scowl.
Jing Liuhuo chuckled and his long platinum hair slid down his muscular arm as he leaned his face closer to Xin Liang, "I'm telling you this last time, Liang'er. Kill that thing when the time is still raw. You will regret what will happen if you don't act earlier."
Xin Liang glanced back and replied with a sharp tone, "He's not a thing. He's my son."
With a faint smile, Jing Liuhuo looked at her before moving slowly away. As he did so, small pieces of fire gradually enveloped his whole body, erasing any memory of his time at the Moon Palace. Xin Liang sighed as he gazed at the sliver of smoke within her chamber. Her knees quivered as she cautiously stepped inside and sat on his bed, raking her hair behind her head with an expression that was impossible to read.
