Multiversal Swarm

Kingdom of dirt part 4

I opened my eyes but I wasn't in the square. I was floating in a void. I was looking at a vast infinity of stars! I was in awe! I've seen sights like this before but they always make me stare.

"Jesse" said a voice said from all around me. A figure walked up to me. I looked over my shoulder...

"Who are you?"

"JESSE"

I opened my eyes. Soki and Mori were  standing over me. I lifted my head to see Sigrun on her knees with her hands on my chest. She laughed as tears came to her eyes. Soki was in shock looking around at the wreckage of the battle. Mori knelt down on the other side of me.

I was wrecked. I need to heal. I tried to move but I just couldn't.

"Did you engage him alone and win?" Mori asked.

"Pretty stupid huh?" I said gritting my teeth from the pain. He chuckled.

"I would call it ballsy." He said looking at Sigrun. He seemed puzzled but not by my battle. 

"My lady why are you crying? Do you know Jesse?" He said concerned.

She wiped the tears from her eyes.

"He is my mate." The words were like venom to both of them. Soki jumped back like he'd been snake biten. Mori acted like he'd been punched right in his faced.

"HE'S WHAT?!" Screamed another voice. I looked over to see the king, the woman from before, and the other three Valkyries.

"Shit" I said under my breath.

He walked over to us. His face red with anger. I coughed and managed to get an arm under me. Then I just gave up and laid back down. Too much pain.

"You mean you courted all four Valkyries at the same time?" The words hurt him to say. He shot a glare in the direction of the other Valkyries. They all looked away and blushed.

"Yes." I never felt so small. Except that one time.

He screamed into the sky. It was almost heart breaking. You know when a man just pelts his lungs out. You know he going through emotional fucking turmoil.

"NOT ONE OF YOU THOUGHT OF THE KINGDOMS FUTURE!" He stormed off. Cursing and screaming.

The woman from before walked over to me and knelt down. Her eyes were calm. Not angry.

"Soki, Mori take him to my chambers. He will need healing." She pulled me up from the ground. I was basically limp. Soki and Mori both took an arm.

"One thing before you go Jesse" she said balling her fist.

"I want to get this out of the way." She turned and kicked me in the balls! Then punched me in the face! My lights went out again.

I woke up in a tent on a stone slab with steaming water under it. It felt great in here. Almost like I was getting stronger by the second. I felt a hand on my chest. I looked up to see the woman with the devastating jab.

"Rest. You'll be fine." Her voice was soothing. I relaxed but Something's wrong.

"We need you to rest. We are on guard and-"

"Why can't I move now?" She stared at me and smiled.

"It's a spell to make sure you heal. This spring is the best healing center in the city. It's uses spells to heal your body. I arranged for it personally." She was kind but the feeling that something wasn't right still lingered. I didn't speak as she walked to look me in the eyes.

"You've gotten yourself in quite the predicament. Courting all the Valkyries is a sacred act. He who courts the Valkyries shall take a strongest as his queen and start a new Kingdom. You see the current king is only the king because the real king died 15 years ago. It's his daughters you've put your hands on.... And mine." Her face was twisting in one of anger. When I thought she was going to speak her face twisted further.

Her beautiful blonde hair turned gray and aged rapidly. Her blue eyes rolled back into her head. A dark set of markings appeared on her forehead spreading across her face coming to a stop at the corners of her mouth. She grew in height but stayed leaned down, getting her twisted face closer to me. It got worse when she spoke.

"JESSE!! IM GOING TO WATCH YOU DIE SLOWLY!" With a voice of nails on a chalkboard Her fucking jaw UNHINGED! I struggled to get free but it was no use.

"Kill her" a voice told me in my head. No I don't want to. I don't want her fucking nightmare fuel either.

"YOU'VE VIOLATED MY KINGDOM!" She bellowed.

"No I didn't! I didn't violate SHIT! What do you want me to say? Your daughter is the one who courted ME! I was happy with one but when the others just joined in I wasn't going to argue! IS THERE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT?" The words were coming out I had no control!

"Kill her!" NO! I fought with all I had to break free. I was able to move my opposite arm, then I shoulder. It wasn't much but I forced more!

"I'LL RIP OUT YOUR THROAT AND WATCH YOU BLEED OUT!" She raised her clawed hand to strike me!

"KILL HER! KILL EVERYTHING" I BROKE FREE!

I shot my hand up and grabbed her throat! Her face turned to one of fear! I squeezed and her eyes rolled back to normal... Everything morphed in front of my eyes. I wasn't holding a demon by the throat... It was Sigrun. The fear response turned to horror. I let go and she collapsed on the floor coughing.

I looked around to see I was in bed in some fucking tower. Probably in the Castle. Fuck how did I get here? I looked around confused. I looked at my hands. I felt something I can't really explain. Words can't describe it.

I looked down at Sigrun who was still holding her throat and coughing. Her face was red and she was obviously still shocked. I looked away fighting back tears. Why?!

Her voice broke the chorus of heavy breathing.

"Jesse?" The word stung like it was made of hot iron.

Before the tears could hit the bottom of my chin I burst into a swarm of nanites. They all swarmed out the open window leaving Sigrun alone in the room. I couldn't answer her. I didn't want to answer her.

I just want to be alone.
