There will be blood Part 4

It wasn't long before we'd teraformed the whole landscape Into a series of craters and raging fires. Neither one of us were holding back very much, and we were moving at a speed that made the air hot enough to invite the dry plants and start a fast spreading prairie fire. As I slashed and countered I realized that we also didn't see where we were going!

As he grabbed my head he threw me Into a fucking oil depot! I crashed through the ceiling and I rolled through to my feet. I quickly looked around. Like clockwork, Gil slashed at my neck! My body still felt like it was being ripped apart and it got really strong as the sword passed through my neck! Gil shot out in front of me and turned around with a look on his face of pure shock. He looked at me with anger as he pointed his sword at me

"What the hell are you Jesse? No more games, no more lies, no more agency! I want to know and I want to know now!

I looked at my hands and saw what was happening. It was like I was made a storm. Small black piece's of me were flying around me, reattaching and detaching in rapid succession! The hand I held my sword in was the only part of me that was remaining stable.

"If I knew Gil... I'd tell you." I said before I dashed Forward again!

I slashed meaning for him to block it! I forced him back into a giant vat of oil! I slashed at the metal creating a few sparks... Before we were launched into the air from the explosion I grabbed Gils leg!

We soard high into the air from the chain reaction! We never stopped fighting as I slashed at him leg! He blocked and delivered a elbow to my neck! I flipped as we flew up and came to the apex! We had to be at least two miles in the air!

I caught myself and swarmed over to him! I delivered a slash as he did! Our swords tips collided and his sword shattered mine into three different pieces! He lit me up with slash after slash! In desperation I grabbed a piece of the blade in my teeth! I swiped my head and took his only organic eye in a second!

I fell backwards! I felt myself speed up as I approached the ground! I slammed into a building that collapsed as I crashed through each floor and destroyed the foundation! I let my whole body come apart and reformed completely on top of the rubble.... I coughed and spat a mix of blood and the blackness.

"Jesse!!" I heard behind me! I turned only to get stabbed right through my shoulder! He caught me totally tangible with no swarm active! He drove me into the ground and kept going! Before long we'd crossed the city creating destruction around us! The whole city was in flames and people scrambled to get to some form of safety from the falling buildings and our battle!

I monkey flipped him off me and he crashed through a small building at the edge of the lake! He got to his feet and I speared him into the water! We hit with such force that it looked like a bomb had went off under water! When we made contact with the lake bed the water flowed to the shores! As the water started to rush back to fill the open air, we started the final collision!

Without wasting a moment I punched Gils sword as hard as I could and it flew out of his hand into the wall of water in the distance! He responded by flipping his leg over his head and delivering a massive kick to the back of my head! My face slammed into the lakebed!

I swept his legs and before he could hit the ground I charged a while reforming above, and behind him! I slammed my fist into his back and the ground shattered under the force! It tossed me back and I saw an aura flared from Gil as he appeared right in front of my face! Time stood still for a second as I realized what he was about to do! I couldn't defend against it...

I snapped awake screaming... I looked around the dark room. A warm hand placed itself on my shoulder.

"Jesse?" A soft voice said to my right. I looked over to she her... She looked tired, like I'd woken her up during a REM cycle.

"Jesse... It's okay. Your not with your unit anymore. They approved your leave, let's just forget about that part of life for a night... Can you do that for me?" She said holding a hand to my cheek.

Her warmth was so soothing. It made me feel like I was whole again. Like the innocence in my heart had been given a boost. I held her hand to my face and took in the moment. I gave her a passionate kiss and told her that I loved her.

"You're my light... Without you I'm just... I'm just a mur-"

"Jesse knock it off! You know that I know exactly who and what you are... And I love you regardless of your mistakes." She said looking at me sternly.

At that moment I felt a mix of everything. Confusion, rage, pain, sadness but most of all I felt... Darkness. An all consuming darkness.

I stood up and punched through the wall to my right! I ripped into the wall until I found it... A blue swirling vortex. My exit.

I turned to her once more... Tears in my eyes I saw that she was no longer there... Only Gil.

"I'm sorry Gil... But I have to see this through to the end." I said before I jumped into the vortex.

Before I knew what had happened I saw that I had my fist through Gils chest! I'd come back only to see I'd ripped his heart out of his chest! The modified organ continued to beat in my hand. Gil coughed blood and oil into my face. I wiped my eyes.

"Je-jesse?" He struggled out of gritted teeth.

"Are... Are yo- you happy n-n-now?" Those were the last words he said to me... Before the lake water overtook us both!

As the water beat the holy hell out of me, the pressure pulled at every part of me, I saw the world for what it truly is... This world is cruel, unforgiving, and callous... Love will guide you to green pastures, But if love is taken away? Then those green pastures turn to baron wastelands devoid of hope or change.

I lost my hope and my love... All that came of it was a baron wasteland.
