I woke up to my phone alarm blaring. I groaned and hit the off button.
"Eli, guess what today is?" My mom asked in a sing song voice while walking in my room.
Great.
"Please don't remind me. Do I have to go?" I asked, my voice muffled from the blankets over me. It was my first day of school.
I started sophomore year today, but I also was a sophomore last year at my old school.
My school transcripts didn't transfer correctly and the curriculum at Beacon Hills was apparently a lot more challenging than last year, I guess.
"Hon, yes. We've been through this conversation about a hundred times already. Besides, you know your way around town my know with all the walking you've been doing," My mom said as she sat on the edge of my bed.
"Yeah I guess," I groaned as I sat up.
"You made friends already so I don't think it'll be too hard," She kissed my forehead. "Now get dressed, I made your favorite downstairs."
As she left I grinned.
My favorite breakfast. On the first day of school my mom always made strawberry waffles. Since I was five it had been traditional.
I got dressed in a grey t-shirt and black jeans with my red Converse. I put on a pair of black stud earrings and a necklace with the Initials ER on them.
Today was the day I would have to do my best to actually try and make friends.
I already knew Isaac and Scott. But maybe I should find more friends that are girls.
Maybe even a girlfriend.
Nah, I don't need a relationship right now.
I was walking to school because my mom had a shift at the clinic the same time I left for school.
I had a slightly used black backpack with a water bottle covered in meme stickers.
I waved at my mom who was chugging a coffee and headed outside.
I scrolled on my phone and looked at the texts between Isaac and I.
I finally got up the courage to ask him on a coffee date, as friends of course. We bonded over the fact that we had shit dad's. For the past few days, he has been showing me around town.
Unfortunately, Isaac's dad takes his phone when he is home so I only get to talk to him for a few hours a day.
I walked down the street which wasn't foggy today.
I started seeing some people walking outside. Maybe because school starts later than when I first went for a walk.
The warning bell rings at 7:45 and first period started at 7:50.
Right now it was 7:30 and I had to arrive early to get my schedule from the main office.
I got to school at 7:34 and slowly found my way to the main office. A few students were in the halls and the teachers were preparing last minute for students.
I walked into the office and to the secretary.
"Hello, my name is Elise Romano and I'm here for my schedule," I say in a sickly sweet voice.
"You're new here? The transfer from the city right?" The secretary lady asks.
"Mhm," I nod as she types into her keyboard.
She looks around the cluttered desk and then grabs a schedule.
"Here you go. Your first period class is on the other side of the school in room 115," The secretary says and she hands me the paper.
I thank her quickly and walk out. It was now 7:39.
"Eli," I heard a voice call from behind me.
The familiar mop of dark brown hair runs up to me.
"Hey, how's your first day so far?" Scott asks.
"Pretty good. I have to find room 115," I say as I show him my schedule.
"Oh, Stiles and I have the same first period too. You'll love the teacher. He's also the lacrosse coach," Scott says as we start walking down the halls.
"Who is Stiles?" I ask as Scott leads me through the halls. I follow his very large amount of hair through the halls.
Scott and I were about the same height. But maybe his hair made for about two inches in height. And I was just a tad bit shorter.
