I felt myself fall asleep. And somehow, I had another crazy dream.

"Elise Romano, protector of the pack," A Golden light said from my dream. "Goddess and philosopher. The true alpha seeks your guidance and help. The time will come when your true powers shall be revealed." The figure shrunk away to reveal a black wolf.

"What's going on?" I asked as the golden figure continued to fade away.

The black wolf came towards me. I could tell there was a connection between us. Their eyes were familiar.

I looked back up and suddenly I was in the woods.

Two figures were running in the woods. "Stiles?" One called out.

"Scott, keep up," The other said.

I recognized those names. Stiles and Scott from Coaches class.

I looked down at the wolf. "Are they the ones I'm supposed to help?" I asked the wolf.

"Elise, the entity of beauty and knowledge, you are the key to everything," The wolf spoke to me telepathically. "Your time shall come soon enough."

I woke up gasping for air. My alarm blared next to me. I reached for my phone and turned it off.

I got dressed in a daze and walked downstairs.

The TV was on.

"Infamous Southern California thief and offender Gilbert Romano is being charged today with counts of abuse, harassment, and theft. This is all happening after prominent veterinarian Heidi Romano filed for divorce due to the charges as well as Mr. Romano threatening their daughter, Elise Romano. The reports of assault also come from former coworkers and family friends."

I watched, my eyes froze to the screen. First, they showed my father's mug shot, then my mother at her old vet clinic, and then me, a picture from my fifteenth birthday last year.

"And now onto today's top story. The half of a body found in Beacon Hills preserve has still not been identified. The sheriff's department strongly advises you to stay away from the preserve until further evidence is presented. Claw marks on the body say it was an animal attack. Please report any suspicious behavior to Beacon Hills sheriff's department."

I turned off the TV.

Closing my eyes, I reached for every ingredient to make breakfast without even making a mistake. It had become some sort of crazy reflex I had.

Three scrambled egg burritos were made in minutes.

Isaac popped out of the living room and my mom came downstairs in a blue set of vet scrubs.

"Good morning," I said, trying to avoid the awkward tension that I could feel in that air.

"Morning honey," My mom greeted and kissed my head. She ruffled Isaac's hair and I could sense his happiness increase.

"You're up early," Isaac said as he hit into the burrito.

"Nightmare," I said as I ate my breakfast. Isaac eyed me suspiciously.

"Maybe we should stop watching the news for a while," My mom suggested.

We all ate in silence. I was the first to finish and decide to make myself some lunch.

By making lunch I mean I grabbed an apple and threw it into my backpack.

"Want an apple for lunch?" I asked him.

"Sure," He said as he finished breakfast.

The three of us functioned like a perfectly normal family. It was crazy how easy we all were around each other.

Mom offered to drive us to school and we happily agreed.

"After school, can I go to a party with Isaac?" I asked my mom as she drove.

"Sure, it's always nice to see you making friends, Eli," She hummed.

"Okay thanks, mom. Have fun at work doing work things," I said as Isaac and I jumped out of the car and walked into school.

We walked into school and this time, all eyes were on Isaac and me.

"Bad idea," I said as I turned back to the doors.

"Nope. We are going to class," Isaac said.

We walked to class and sat in the back this time. Stiles, Scott, and Allison all approached us and sat near us in the back of the classroom as well.

The dream I had last night was still fresh in my mind. If Scott and Stiles had something to do with what was happening to me, I had to find it out. There were still five minutes before class started.

I walked over to them and sat down on an empty desk next to Scott.

"Scott, were you in the woods the other night?" I asked outright. I whispered it, as to not draw more attention to myself than necessary.

"Yeah. Wait, how did you know?" Scott asked, a bit suspicious. "Only Stiles knew about that."

"I know he was there. The wolf told me," I replied.

Scott looked at me with wild eyes. "You see it too?" He asked incredulously.

"I see more than just wolves Scott," I replied truthfully. "I see things and can do things that normal people wouldn't be able to even imagine."

"Do you know what I am?" Scott asked.

"I do know that you should sit with Isaac and me at lunch. We can talk later," I said as Coach walked into the room.

I sat down next to Isaac again and paid attention in class. He passed me a small yellow sticky note with five words written on it.

What was your nightmare about?
