After school, I waited for Stiles and Scott. I didn't know where they were so I just chilled by the bike racks.

"Hey, you're new here, right?" A girl with bright red hair came up to me and asked.

"Yeah, I'm Elise Romano," I smiled.

"I'm Lydia Martin. Nice to meet you," She introduced herself. "Did you hear about my party tonight?"

"Yeah, I'm going with Stiles and Scott," I smiled at her.

"That's great. See you there then," She smiled at me and walked to a guy who I assumed was her boyfriend.

Damn, she was pretty.

I saw Scott and Stiles walking out of school together so I walked up to greet them.

"Good afternoon boys," I said as we walked together.

"So, Scott is taking Allison and I'm taking you," Stiles said. "As friends of course."

Isaac walked over to us. "Ready for lacrosse?" He asked the guys.

"I forgot about that," Scott said. " What if something happens?"

"Nothing's gonna happen," I reassure him. "I can feel it."

"Okay, we'll be out in a few minutes. You can sit by Allison and Lydia," Stiles said, pointing to the redhead and brunette.

I walked over to them and Lydia patted the seat next to her.

"So Elise, who're you cheering on?" Lydia asked with a little suggestive smile. "My boyfriend is the captain. His name's Jackson. Allison is practically head over heels for Scott so she's watching him."

"Isaac invited me and Stiles is driving me to the party later," I said.

"Oh, we should all hang out together," Lydia smiled. "You're both new in town and obviously I can see you having lacrosse boyfriends in the future." She smirked at Allison and me.

"Scott, Stiles, Isaac, and I are just friends," I said defensively.

"I just moved here and I'm just trying to fit in, not stand out," Allison said.

"Elise, I've quite literally just met you but I know you're going to stand out," Lydia smiled.

We stood up and cheered as the players came onto the field.

After the scrimmage, Scott ended up becoming a co-captain of the team. During this time, I could feel a strong connection between Scott and me.

Even though he was far away on the field, I could see the yellow glow of his eyes. I also saw a singular yellow halo that accompanied him around the field. Isaac kept a blue one and Stiles had his usual green one.

Every time I would summon one or force it to go away, my head would buzz and tilt to the side uncontrollably. Of course, being out in the open with other people was not a good time to test my powers. But I did know that controlling them would be better than randomly crying or passing out.

Isaac ran to the locker room to get home on time and came over when he was done changing.

"So, how was I?" He asked as I went to meet him at the edge of the field.

"Very great. Blue halo mood," I smiled.

"You're controlling it?" Isaac asked, clearly shocked.

"I'm trying to," I shrugged.

"See you tomorrow," He said.

"Yeah, until then Lahey," I smiled as he walked away.

Stiles and Scott were walking up to us behind Isaac. Scott gave me a little grin.

"I told him I was starting to control my powers," I shrugged it off and avoided eye contact with them.

Allison waved as she walked past me and ran to her car. Probably to get ready for tonight.

"I need to drop my stuff off at home real quick but we'll meet you there," Stiles told me as he waved goodbye to Scott and Allison.

Stiles and I walked in sync to his jeep and we both.

"So did you want to go to your house and change or anything?" Stiles asked as I hopped in his jeep.

I looked down at my clothes from school. "What's wrong with this?" I asked him.

"Oh nothing I just figured you might want to change or something," He said awkwardly.

"Stiles, I look hotter than Scott's mom right now. I think I'm good for a party," I said as I tied my hair up with a scrunchie.

"Okay then," He said as he started his jeep. "You know, you're very different."

"Well, I know that," I said as if he stated the obvious.

"No, I just mean this is like your second day of school and you were able to make friends with Lydia Martin. You hang out with Isaac and you just said you're hotter than Scott's mom. By the way, don't talk about Melissa like that," Stiles said as we pulled out of the parking lot.

"People will know who I am soon enough. So I figured I might as well put on a damn good show for them to watch.

"You mean this morning's news? Yeah, I saw it," Stiles commented.

"You don't care that my father is a bad guy?" I asked him in surprise.

"Well, no. But your mom is hot," Stiles laughed.

"Really? Was it fully necessary?" I rolled my eyes playfully at him.

"Um okay, shoot," I replied nervously.

"Why do you think people will treat you differently?" He asked.

"At my last school, I was bullied relentlessly because of what my dad did. They used to say it was my fault. I even got thrown into a dumpster once. But my mom thought it would be best if we moved to her hometown and tried to start over," I sighed.

"Wow okay," Stiles let out a breathy sigh. "So who's your family here?" He asked after a few seconds.

"Do you know the Hale family?" I asked him.

"Yeah," Stiles said questionably.

"Most of them died in a house fire," I started. "But this guy named Peter, he's like in a coma. My mom is his half-sister. Which makes me his niece I think. I really don't know. But I also apparently have a half-cousin named Derek."

"Derek Hale?" Stiles asked, this time with his voice raised.

"Yeah, why?"

"Scott thinks he's being followed by Derek or something," Stiles said.

We had been sitting in his driveway for a few minutes.

"Do you think anything will happen tonight?" I asked Stiles.

"Why?"

"Well it's a full moon tonight," I stated as a matter of fact.
