After another three classes with people I didn't know, it was finally time for lunch. I walked down the hallway and met up with Isaac outside the cafeteria.

"You do know that the school lunch is horrible right?" He joked a bit.

"What're you eating then?" I asked him since he was only carrying a few folders.

He smirked before reaching into a bag on his other shoulder that I hadn't noticed before. "Pure fuel," He said and handed me a container. I didn't question it.

We managed to find an empty table in the caf away from people. Some guys gave me stares because of course, being the new girl meant I was fresh meat for the jocks and other suckers in school.

I opened the container to find it packed with an assortment of cookies.

"Isaac Lahey, did you make these cookies for me?" I smirked at him.

He had a faint red blush on his skin and I laughed and took a chocolate chip cookie out of the container. I bit into it and my eyes widened.

"Oh my god, these are so good," I practically moaned as I eagerly tried the other cookies in the container.

"Woah save some for me," Isaac chuckled and scooted closer to me. We ate the cookies and occasionally chatted.

Isaac explained how his father started working longer hours since Isaac was in school now. I casually mentioned that maybe he could stop by my house on his way home.

"Come on! Please? Just for a little bit?" I asked him.

"Fine," he signed. I nudged him a bit and laughed. Isaac's eyes wandered around the cafeteria and landed on a person. I followed his gaze to my bio partner Matt.

"Are you okay?" I ask Isaac, concerned.

"Yeah, Matt just doesn't feel right sometimes," Isaac shuddered. He looked back at me and gave me a small smile.

"Hey, just another three more classes and we can go home. Ooh, I can show you my room. I just decorated it with all of my posters and stuff. My dad never let me hang posters or whatever and now my room looks super cool," I try to converse to ease the tension I clearly felt radiating off of Isaac.

Wait, how did I feel discomfort? Suddenly, I felt a rush of happiness and it surely wasn't coming from me. I looked up at Isaac. The halos were back again. The halo radiated a mix of yellow and orange swirls.

I looked around. Allison's halo was still red. Scott had a dark purple colored halo. Stiles had a green halo. Matt had a black halo. Our eyes met and all I felt was fear, hatred, and envy. I looked away and couldn't help but gasp. I blinked and the halos were gone.

"Hey, are you okay?" I Isaac asked me.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Why would you think I'm not okay?" I asked him, trying to cover up the painful burning sensation I began to feel in my chest.

"Well, you're crying," He said softly. I felt concern radiate off of him, almost loving concern.

After that awkward situation in the cafeteria, we headed off to our last three classes. They flew by pretty quickly considering my second to last class was a study hall in the library.

I met up with Isaac outside and we started walking to my house.

"So, tomorrow is the lacrosse scrimmage and I was wondering if you wanted to watch me play?" He asked as we strolled down the quiet streets.

"Sure, I have nothing going on," I smiled up at him.

He seemed about six feet tall or so. Compared to Scott, there was about a three-inch difference between them. Which made me have a four-inch or so height difference.

"Also do you have any plans later in the evening?" He asked again.

"No, why?"

"Well, there's this party I heard about and maybe you'd want to go with me. It's totally cool if you don't though," He stuttered and rubbed the back of his neck.

"I'd have to ask my mom but sure, I'll go," I smiled up at him.

After a couple more minutes of walking in comfortable silence, we made it to my house.

My mom's car wasn't in the driveway and I reached into my pocket to pull out my keys.

"Welcome to the very unorganized Romano house," I said as I opened the door and did some floppy jazz hands.

We walked in and I kicked off my shoes, motioning for him to do the same. I put my bag on a bench by the door and giddily wait for Isaac.

"Do you want something to eat?" I ask as I go to the kitchen.

"Nah, we practically stuffed ourselves with a whole container of cookies," He chuckled a bit.

"Coolios, then we can go up to my room," I said.

I gave him a small tour of the downstairs part of the house before going upstairs.

"And this is my humble abode," I say as we walk in my room.

"It's pretty cool," Isaac says.

"Yeah! I decorated it myself, every single poster was professionally picked out by me. And its definitely full of class," I said as I plopped on my bed.

Isaac was awkwardly standing by the door when I motioned for him to sit next to me.

"Come on, there's enough room for five people on this bed," I patted the side.

He looked at me, almost uncertain. Then I knew what was wrong.

"Oh hell no Lahey. We aren't about to make out," I said. "I don't want to lead you on, or whatever."

He gave an awkward grin before sitting next to me. "Cool, because we just met."

"Do you want to watch TV?" I asked him as I pulled out my laptop.

"Actually I wanted to talk about what happened in the cafeteria Earlier," He replied.

I felt my entire body freeze. This wasn't good.
