Chapter 10: Modifications

26/05/4013 AD – 03:32 – Iceikco – Ultrayan Alliance Secret Base – Modification Chambers

The room that the team were led to was a fairly large and open space that was filled with adult-sized containers; they were white, egg-shaped pods with blue canopies that were currently flipped up in an open position. A seat and buttons could be seen through the plastic windows to the side of the pod. Behind the pod, there was a large, bulky box.

"Using these capsules, Wyperians can set up our weapons and equipment; you essentially build your own loadout and then, if we have the materials, the 3D printers in the back shall construct the equipment for you", Hyperzio explained.

A stubborn Crystrx was stood in the middle of the room, arms crossed, "So, are you going to get in or not?"

"Forgive her", pleaded Hyperzio. "If you choose to lay in one of these containers, you shall be able to modify your bodies. These bland forms we currently have are just the basic designs of Wyperians".

"So, we can look at all your weaponry and even arm ourselves?" asked Oliver.

"Now we are talking!" Daniel said excitedly.

"Once you get inside the chamber, you shall be able to use the connected computer to equip various items, or you can look over other pre-set loadouts", claimed Hyperzio.

"Judging by those happy sounds it seems like you have decided to help us out", Sollikarr concluded as he entered the room.

"Not quite, I just think they deserve the right to be able to at least look at what we can provide them with before they decide", clarified Hyperzio.

"Well it's your call, Commander", stated Sollikarr. "I must inform you though, as this is only a small outpost, we don't have a lot of the normal gear we'd usually have. For example, we don't have the claymore blades you like so much".

"Not to worry, we'll just have to make do", Hyperzio replied calmly, although everyone could sense the disappointment in his voice. "Let's get started then! Oh, and when you are done, push the 'Finish and Equip' button in the bottom-right corner of the touch screen. This system will put you to sleep and when you wake, you shall have your loadout equipped".

"Put us to sleep?" Oliver asked suspiciously.

"Oh, come on", Hyperzio complained. "You believed everything I've said until now but having a nap is the thing you want to go against? I'm not trying to kill you off! Besides, it is like 3AM if we go by Moderrus' time zone".

"Good point", Oliver said as he walked over to a pod.

"Actually", Sollikarr started to sound slightly smug. "When we adapted to the Humans times and dates, we merged all time zones throughout the galaxy into one twenty-four-hour clock, we commonly refer to this new development as 'Galactic Time', did they not cover this in class?"

"Our education was somewhat halted in forty-zero-four", Daniel frowned.

"Wait, but all planets don't rotate at the same speed... or orbit at the sun at the same speed!" Oliver cried out. "You can't just do that!"

"Why not?" Sollikarr laughed. "Time is a man-made construct... well the idea of tracking it is". This philosophy made an understanding Oliver back down.

"So Moderrus just so happened to be the centre time zone?" Anna pondered.

"Weren't you the one that told me that New Side City, which is located in Moderrus, was the first city of the new Earth?" Hyperzio asked rhetorically. "It kinda makes sense".
