"The rules have been finalised!" the announcer shouted. "If General Hyperzio wins, the U.A. shall prioritise protecting both Humanity AND the Wyperians. If Sollikarr wins however, the U.A. shall prioritise locating Novaran".
"If he is even still out there", Hyperzio said quietly to Sollikarr. Hyperzio maintained his folded arms pose whilst Sollikarr had taken a more angered, offensive stance.
"You are going to help me find him no matter what!" Sollikarr rebutted.
From the seats, Staruthia had an agitated look to her, "Remember when problems were solved by talking things out?"
"That has basically never worked", Anmarina sighed.
"Exactly", Dracolast laughed awkwardly. "The Wyperians attacked Earth immediately without any sort of communication being exchanged. So shush; I want to see this!" Neither of them bothered to actually look at Staruthia whilst they talked to her.
"You behave more like children than adults", Staruthia looked back at the arena.
"The match will begin in three, two one", hyped up the announcer. "GO!"
"I'm sorry your victory over Elimiphlaren will be so short lived!" Sollikarr immediately pulled out his solar rifle and fired a ball of energy directly at Hyperzio. The energy blast exploded, and smoke covered the area of effect. Sollikarr grinned. A faint metal screech could be heard before a storm of bullets were fired, from within the smoke, at Sollikarr. Hyperzio's shield had taken the first attack and the smoke cleared to reveal his arms in Gatling mode, shooting at Sollikarr who was now also shielding himself. Bullets dissolved as they crashed into the energy shield. Sollikarr charged up his rifle from within his shield.
"You think I'm going to let you charge that piece of junk up?" Hyperzio said without emotion. The orange spikes connected to his backpack extended; six pieces ejected from the top of the spikes and launched outwards before curving around and heading towards Sollikarr. The researcher deactivated his shield and started sprinting around the edge of the arena. Hyperzio followed Sollikarr's movements with his arm weapons, still firing as his homing rockets crashed, one-by-one, into the audience. Dracolast laughed as he saw the front row relishing in the artificial burns surrounding the areas Hyperzio's rockets had hit. He looked back towards his own holographic monitor; neither of the health bars had even taken a small hit yet.
After the barrage of missiles ended, Sollikarr briefly activated his shield causing Hyperzio's beam of bullets to pass over him. He deactivated the shield again and fired the large, charged-up attack from his rifle at Hyperzio. The energy hit Hyperzio, causing an explosion. The health bar for Hyperzio on the holographic screens depleted.
'He didn't shield himself?!' thought Staruthia.
'I best keep this up!' thought Sollikarr as he converted his rifle to hammer mode and charged another energy burst, locking it at the tip of the weapon. He rushed down Hyperzio, whose arms were no longer in Gatling gun mode. He waved away the smoke and, in the same motion, crossed his right hand over his chest and slightly in front of the left panel on his assault belt.
'Eject Sirbus', thought Hyperzio. The panel opened forwards and threw the requested weapon into Hyperzio's hand. It was a small black handgun, no different to typical Human side-arms. He aimed at the charging Sollikarr and quickly emptied a magazine at him. Sollikarr re-engaged his shield, halting his movement.
Dracolast looked at his screen, 'Sirbus: the small, ten round pistol that Hyperzio showed us earlier, comes pre-equipped in all assault belts', he read off the screen. 'Why use that puny thing over his Gatling gun? Both weapons have unlimited ammo, sure, but, like my chain cannon, the Gatling doesn't have to reload'.
