27/05/4013 AD – 09:49 – Iceikco – Ultrayan Alliance Secret Base – Base Ship Hangar Bay
"I hope you have all finalised your weapon loadouts!" Hyperzio spoke energetically to the exploration team. The four members were standing on a platform of a massive hangar bay; three Carazstars were docked, and a long, triangular tube was being hauled overhead with large cables on ceiling railings. Mylialta and Heygrasaults were being loaded into the Carazstar's own hangar bays. Sollikarr came up to the group and knocked on the energy cannons on Daniel's back.
"So, you managed to convert the one of our tanks into a kit that can be armour-mounted?" asked Sollikarr. "That's very impressive".
"Daniel has always been very good with weapons", Hyperzio. "He studied them regularly to figure out which ones would be best to kill Wyperians".
"Oh wonderful", Sollikarr sighed sarcastically. "Anyway, the reason I came over is because, during training, we found out his armour is Surploshiel".
"What is that?" asked Oliver.
"It is a birth-defect that occurs in some Wyperians", Hyperzio answered. "Well, I say 'defect', but it is actually a huge advantage: they are immune to explosive damage". Hyperzio held his hand above one of the side panels of the assault belt, the top opened up and a cylindrical grenade teleported into his hand.
"So, Daniel", Hyperzio smirked as he threaded his index finger through the loop on the detonation pin. "How much do you trust me?"
"There may have been one or two things that have shaken my trust recently", Daniel was clearly nervous.
"Anna, Oliver, back up a little", and with that, Hyperzio unpinned the grenade and threw it at his colleague. Anna and Oliver threw themselves out of the way. The grenade erupted underneath Daniel and the loud explosion, and subsequent smoke, drew the attention of the other Wyperians throughout the hangar. An alarm went off which Sollikarr quickly disabled. When the smoke cleared, Daniel stood there in a disappointed stance; his armour had been slightly scratched from shrapnel, but the bar that displayed his remaining health had not decreased. He let out a long sigh whilst the other four surrounding him chuckled.
Hyperzio sighed and prepared himself for his following speech, "I have asked you to create loadouts and haven't been overly truthful because, quite honestly I need your help". The rest of the team looked around at each other.
"We desperately need to retake the H.Q.", Hyperzio continued. "According to Sollikarr, numerous attacks have been led on the base but were unsuccessful. However, with four new, intelligent, and powerful members added to the battlefield, we could break through! But as I said yesterday, this is a proper war, it is not a game; those health bars aren't little tubes that will take you to a 'game over' screen where you can try again – you absolutely cannot let them deplete!"
Oliver looked down at the gauge, "That... certainly is a problem. It's not very encouraging".
"I know, and that is why I am not forcing you into anything", calmly replied Hyperzio. "I let you see the equipment beforehand as a kind of apology".
"Hyperzio, I'll help on one condition", Anna said firmly, stepping forward. "I want to change my name!"
"Erm, pardon?" Hyperzio looked astonished.
"Anna Malove", she spoke. "That was the name I was given when I was Human. It feels odd to be surrounded by people called 'Hyperzio' and 'Crystrx', whilst I'm still called Anna. I would like to adapt to this new life starting with a name change to 'Anmarina'. I don't want to neglect my past name nor my love for Earth's oceans, so Anna and marine are the two words I combined to create a Wyperian sounding name!" Anna's visor was bright pink, she was clearly very embarrassed by her outburst.
"If that's what you wish, Anmarina", Hyperzio smiled. "Thank you for everything".
Daniel laughed, "Come to think of it, 'Daniel' isn't exactly a Wyperian name either. How about Dragoon Blast?!"
"That sounds like a rejected superhero name", commented Anmarina.
"But the Dragoon Tank..." Daniel sounded terribly upset. "It fires powerful blasts".
"What about 'Dracolast'?" Oliver suggested. "At least that sounds a little more unique... and not like it was created by a five-year-old".
"I guess that's okay", said the newly named Dracolast. The three exploration team members then stared eagerly at Oliver who sighed and looked around the room. His visor eventually focused on the large blade on his arm.
"Oli...cleaver then I guess", Oliver did not sound amused.
"So Hyperzio, Anmarina, Dracolast and Olicleaver?" Sollikarr stated. "Great! Now if you're done playing around, we have a base to capture". The team smiled at one another, their moods significantly lightened, and they all boarded an awaiting Heygrasault as Sollikarr moved to a location elsewhere in the base. The dropship door folded shut and the craft began to move.
'A new name and a new adventure!' Anmarina thought optimistically, almost as if she didn't acknowledge her friend's warnings of this not being a game.
