Malfoy Manor
The dark hall of Malfoy Manor was filled with a sense of foreboding as Voldemort reclined on a couch, surrounded by his loyal Death Eaters. Bellatrix sat at his feet, her devotion evident in her eyes.
"Lucius!" Voldemort's voice, cold and serpent-like, called out to Lucius Malfoy, sending a shiver down his spine.
"Y-yes, My Lord!" Lucius responded, his voice trembling with fear.
"You were once my most loyal servant. Yet, after my fall, you never attempted to contact me. Why, Lucius?" Voldemort's tone was devoid of emotion.
"I am sorry, My Lord!" Lucius stammered, his voice filled with remorse.
"Prove your remorse to me, Lucius."
"What do you mean, My Lord?"
"Prove to me that you truly regret your actions." Voldemort's command carried an air of indifference.
"Very well. I am ready to prove my loyalty, My Lord. Command me, and I shall fulfill it." Lucius bowed before Voldemort, offering his complete submission.
"Find the girl. Find her and bring her to me. Bring her to where she rightfully belongs. And when she arrives, teach her the darkest and most powerful spells. I want her to become a formidable dark witch. Ah, then her powers shall be mine, amplified twofold. The world will bow before me." Voldemort's words dripped with malice.
"But how can I find her? I have never seen her before," Lucius exclaimed, shocked by the task assigned to him.
"That is your problem, Lucius. It is up to you to complete this task. And if you fail, your son, Draco, shall prove the loyalty of the Malfoy bloodline!"
"No! No, My Lord! Not Draco. He is but a boy. We can find the girl," Narcissa interjected, her voice filled with fear.
At that moment, the front door of Malfoy Manor creaked open, drawing the attention of all present. Someone was running towards the hall.
"Draco!" Narcissa gasped, her voice muffled, as she looked towards her husband for reassurance. Lucius understood her concern and attempted to dismiss Draco, "Draco, go to your room. We are busy now. We shall speak later."
Ignoring his father's command, Draco opened the door to the hall, a smile adorning his face, and began to speak.
"Father, do you know anything about the Diangelos? You never mentioned them before. I am curious to know. Please, Father."
"No, Draco. I am unaware of any Diangelos," Lucius replied, annoyance creeping into his voice. Draco's expression faded.
"But she is studying at Hogwarts. I had never seen her before, but I caught a glimpse of her before the holidays. So..."
"That is enough, boy! Can't you see we are not here to listen to your trivial love affairs? Go to your room this instant!" Lucius shouted.
Draco surveyed the room, realizing it was filled with Death Eaters, with Voldemort himself at the center. Fear gripped him.
"Um... Excuse me, I apologize for interrupting. You may continue with your meeting. I shall leave now."
As he turned to exit the room, the Dark Lord called out to him, his voice calm and commanding.
"Draco, my boy, wait."
Lucius trembled at the sinister undertone in Voldemort's words and pleaded, "My Lord, he is but a boy. He made a mistake unknowingly. Let him go. I shall handle him later. I assure you, he shall not repeat this offense."
"Ah, Lucius
! Can't you see? Your son shows more initiative than you ever have. He is worthy of becoming one of my loyal followers. Draco, come here," Voldemort beckoned.
Anxiously, Draco approached the Dark Lord, his heart pounding.
"Sit here, boy. How are your studies progressing?" Voldemort inquired.
"G-good," Draco stammered.
"Hmm, so what were you discussing? The D'Angelo girl?" Voldemort asked with interest.
"Y-yes, my Lord."
"Is she your friend?" Voldemort inquired further.
"N-no, my Lord. I saw her for the first time that day. I believe she is around my age."
"Do you have any suspicions? Did you inquire about her presence at Hogwarts or why she remains unknown to others?" Voldemort's curiosity grew.
"Well, her explanations seemed rather dubious to me, but at the time, I did not pay much heed to logical conclusions," Draco mumbled, his cheeks flushing. Bellatrix, sitting nearby, couldn't contain her amusement and let out a giggle.
"Silence!" Voldemort silenced her. "Indeed, a curious situation, isn't it, Lucius?" Lucius nodded nervously, his gaze fixed upon Voldemort's piercing red eyes.
"Very well, Draco. One final question. How would you describe this girl?" Voldemort's gaze bore into Draco, who felt an impending sense of doom. He couldn't bring himself to harm Heaven, even if he tried. He felt an inexplicable attraction and respect towards her.
"Tell me, boy. We must find her, mustn't we?" Voldemort's wand was now pointed at Narcissa. Draco, overwhelmed, lost touch with his humanity.
"She is an ordinary girl with an air of mystery. Not particularly tall, barely reaching five feet. Her black wavy hair cascades down to her waist, resembling a cute pygmy puff. And..."
"And, Draco?" Voldemort's voice grew sharper.
"And she bears dark circles under her eyes, a sign of weariness. Yet, her eyes hold a certain tranquility. Looking into them, all my sorrows seem to fade away."
"CRUCIO!"
Draco's piercing scream filled the air as he collapsed to the floor. The Death Eaters watched, fear-stricken, as Narcissa stood frozen, unable to comprehend the sudden shock. Only Bellatrix reveled in the infernal scene. Voldemort slowly rose from his seat, closing the distance to Draco and pushing him to his feet.
"I am pleased that you achieved what your useless father could not. You have proven the loyalty of the Malfoy bloodline. However, you made a grave mistake by laying your eyes on what is mine."
With that, Voldemort pressed his wand harder against Draco, causing him to cry out in agony. Lucius fell to his knees, pleading for his son's release. Bellatrix, having enjoyed the spectacle, grew jealous of Voldemort's protectiveness toward the girl. Rising from the floor, she approached the Dark Lord and began rubbing her cheeks against his arm.
"My Lord, let him go. He has been punished for his transgression. He acted unknowingly. My baby Draco, will you repeat this mistake?" Bellatrix's voice was sweet, yet jealousy seeped through her words. But Draco lay there, unable to even twitch a finger, his body numb.
"I shall ensure he does not repeat such actions in the future, My Lord," Narcissa pleaded.
Lowering his wand, Voldemort cast a final glance at Draco's limp form before turning to address the Death Eaters. "Search near Hogwarts today. And I shall summon Snape to learn of the whereabouts of this girl."
