When 14-year-old orphan Leah discovers she is a witch and the descendant of Merlin, she also learns that she is bound to the serpent-like wizard Voldemort as soulmates. However, their path to union will not be easy. Leah finds herself caught in a da...
The heads of the houses were busy with last-minute preparations for the students' ball. Filch and Mrs. Norris kept a watchful eye on every corner of the school. Penny and I were busy decorating the school while the house-elves prepared the feast. Headmistress McGonagall observed all our activities, and Hagrid tended to his pets.
"Penny, please pass me the stars," I requested as I focused on placing mistletoe on the walls of the Great Hall.
There was no response from Penny, so I attempted to turn around to see her but ended up slipping off the stool. "Woah..." I cast the "Molliare" spell to land safely and felt someone grab my arms. When I finally stood on solid ground, I turned to see Draco Malfoy holding onto me. He gazed into my eyes intently.
"Eh... Draco? Thank you," I said.
"Eeeeeeehhhh, Celia, you're soooo boring! Why are you so proficient? I missed a live classic romantic scene because of you!" Penny complained while chewing on some gummy worms. "Imagine you falling from the stool, and doctor Malfoy catching you like a hero!" She began daydreaming.
My face turned red, hearing her thoughts, and I scolded her, "Penny! There are students here too! Stop acting like a teenager."
Draco coughed and released my arms. Penny pouted and get bussied sticking stars on the pillars.
"You should be careful, Celia," Draco broke the silence between us. I nodded. "We don't know when and how danger might appear. By the way, I came here to ask you to be my..."
"Hey, kitty cat! How are you doing?" Draco's words were interrupted by Professor Milord's voice. I turned toward the entrance and saw him and Headmistress McGonagall approaching us. Milord had a boyish smile on his face, with one hand in his pocket. I greeted both of them, "Good morning, Professor Milord! Good morning, Headmistress!"
They both nodded, and but Draco greeted only McGonagall and just glared at Romeo.
"The poor boy was practically rescued by me. I don't know what would have happened if I hadn't gone there for supervision," Minerva chuckled, and Romeo said, "Hey, old lady, things aren't like that!"
I grew curious and asked, "What happened?"
McGonagall explained, "Every house head is giving last-minute practice to their house students for tonight's ball. Romeo was choreographing the Slytherins, but the girls practically started fighting over who's going to dance with him. Ha ha ha!" She laughed.
I joined in the laughter and joked, "Then I'll have to be careful because of snatching their favorite professor for tonight!" "No one can touch you when I'm around," Professor Milord said, his voice slightly deeper, or perhaps I was imagining it.
Draco looked surprised and asked, "Celia, are you going with him to the ball?" He inquired.
"Yes, Kitty is going with me!" Romeo said proudly. Draco nodded and said, "I'm leaving, Celia, Professor McGonagall."
But I stopped him. "Wait, Draco! What were you going to tell me?" He looked at me with an unknown expression and said, "Nothing. I just came here to ask if you're taking your medicines on time."
Before I could respond, Romeo interrupted, "Don't worry, Draco. I remind her to take her medicines." He smiled. Draco clenched his jaw and left the hall.
"What happened with him?" I asked Romeo, and he simply shrugged. Then Minerva complimented our decoration efforts, saying, "Ladies, the decoration looks wonderful. Keep up the good work," before she left. Romeo took my hands, kissed my fingers, and whispered, "I'll be waiting for you in the evening, Kitty," before departing as well. Penny was grinning at me mischievously and remarked, "Merlin, the hotty is completely head over heels for you!"
"Shut up, Penny! He's just well-mannered. By the way, I heard Mr. Lee is also coming, isn't he?" I inquired.
"Shut up, witch," she grumbled, and then started organizing the tables in the hall.
In the evening
"Penny, can you do my makeup, please?" I pleaded with her. We were exhausted from preparing for the ball, and I wasn't skilled at doing makeup.
"Of course, sexy! You're going to dazzle everyone tonight," she winked.
"Oh, not again," I grumbled. Finally, after Penny worked her magic, I looked in the mirror. Don't get me wrong, but I truly looked stunning compared to any other day, and all the credit went to Penny. When I thanked her, she replied, "You're a beautiful person, inside and out, Elly! I just added a little makeup, lipstick, mascara, and styled your hair. Don't underestimate yourself!" She hugged me warmly.
"Aww, Penny, I love you!" I said with genuine affection.
"But I don't want to become the rival of Dr. Malfoy and professor Milord," she joked, and I lightly playfully swatted her arm.
I wear an off-shoulder double shaded slim fit pleated gown with shades of black and emerald green and full body green embroidery with long black transparent sleevs. It had a sweetheart neckline that accentuated my look for the evening.

[Celia's Outfit for Celestial Ball]
Penny couldn't help but let out a wolf whistle. "Woo-hoo! Damn, woman, you're slaying in your thirties!"
"Shut up, Penny," I grumbled, but her comment brought a smile to my face.
"Are you sure you didn't get laid? Merlin, men are blind nowadays!" she exclaimed, her curiosity clearly piqued.
"Hurry up, or else Mr. Lee is going to leave you," I teased, trying to divert the conversation.
As I began descending the stairs, I collided with someone.
"Ouch!"
"Ah!"
We both exclaimed simultaneously, surprised by the sudden collision.
"Sorry, Madam, I wasn't look—" the person began to apologize, but upon seeing me, they fell silent, their gaze filled with awe. It was none other than Draco Malfoy, dressed in a copper-colored suit with a white peacock brooch. Hadn't he mentioned he wasn't interested in attending this ball? Perhaps he came with a date, and here I was, foolishly thinking he might ask me. How pathetic I had become. This realization caused a churn in my heart and a lump in my throat. Still, Draco continued to stare at me as if seeing me in a new light. "Merlin, it feels like animals are doing a ballet in my stomach!" I thought, feeling myself blush.
"Good evening, Draco," I greeted him, trying to regain my composure. He snapped out of his reverie and replied, "Good evening. You look stunning."
But before he could say anything more, a hand suddenly wrapped around my waist, and I turned to see Romeo standing beside me, wearing a black suit with a white shirt adorn with a silver brochure of "snapdragon" flowers. It's quite odd. His expression was cheerful as he addressed Draco, "Hey, brother! Mind if I take my date with me?" Draco stared at him for a moment, then nodded in response. "Brother? Why did he call him 'brother'?" I wondered, slightly puzzled.
"You look handsome too, Bye!" I said to Draco, my voice meek, as Romeo whisked me away with a cute smile.
