"What about Matmat?" Mackenzie worriedly asked.
"Shhh," I hushed, holding and gripping her hand tightly. "You don't have to worry about it. Our baby will be okay. This is just for one night and then we'll be fine. I just think you deserve this, alright?"
She let out a deep sighed. "Hindi ko man alam kung ano 'tong pinaplano mo, Kai. But I hope this means something."
Napangiti na lamang ako. "It will be, so trust me on this one, alright?"
She nodded and smiled. "Alright," she uttered.
I kissed her, comforting her that she shouldn't worry about anything. That I've got this night covered for both of us. We just left our son in his nursery room. Mabuti na lang ay maaga rin namin itong napatulog or else, we would be spending the whole night looking for stupid ways to stop him crying. Nasisisi na ako ni Mack just because I don't know what to do. This is new to me and I'm still adjusting—mahirap pero kinakaya ko naman.
"Alam mo... this is unnecessary, Kai. We should go and sleep na rin."
Even though she couldn't see me, I shook my head upon disagreeing with her statement. "No. I won't let us go to sleep. You'll love this, Zie. I'm sure you will."
As we walked our way down the backyard, I couldn't help but be excited about this. She knew that we've been dealing with a lot of things lately and we tend to forget to look after ourselves. Though we still manage to do some things, but we rarely do what we usually do before now that we have Matmat.
Mahirap man sa una, mas nagiging madali na ang lahat kalaunan. And that's life, hindi lahat madali sa umpisa. You'll have to get through worse and worse so at the end of the day, you will learn and the next day you'll be getting on it, the experience will be your guide to have a better future.

But as soon as we reached the backyard, hindi ko na namang mapigilang mapangiti as I've been preparing to do this ever since. Parang napakatagal na ng panahon simula ng gawin namin ito, but then I just took this opportunity to do this dahil kung iisipin, kailan ko naman gagawin kung hindi pa ngayon?
"Are you ready?" I whispered and she just nodded.
And then I slowly removed my hand from covering her eyes. While she adjusted her vision, trying to look around where she is and then she gasped finding out a romantic table set up in the center of our backyard.
Agad na napatingin sa akin si Zie na nanlaki ang mata at napatakip na lamang ang kamay sa kanyang bibig. I could tell she just couldn't believe what she's seeing now.
