Chapter 19
"Mackenzie, I received an invitation from L.M. foundation and they asked me if I can give a speech. I'm not sure what speech it could be pero pag-iisipin ko rin. I don't wanna take it for granted. I want to take the opportunity to share something that could help others. What do you think?"
"Yes, sure. You can do that. Naka-receive din ako ng invitation sa kanila. Nakalimutan ko lang banggitin sa 'yo. We're all caught up with what's happening lately. But it's a good thing dahil anniversary nila kaya it's a great time for everyone especially to those people who believe that LM is already a part of their life."
"Yeah, I think so too. I will try to talk to dad if they can offer sponsorship or some kind of donation to the event."
"Okay lang ba sa dad mo 'yon?"
I shrugged off. "I don't know. Kakausapin ko siya pagbalik natin ng Manila. Pero sa tingin ko, papayag naman siya. Hindi naman milyon-milyon ang ilalabas niya. Sapat na 'yong makatutulong sa foundation. After what happened two weeks ago, nagbago ang ihip ng hangin."
She chuckled and held my hand tight. "S'yempre, no one wants to see you go. Takot na takot din ako nang mga oras na 'yon. Just like your mom, I thought I was going to lose you."
"You're not going to lose me, Zie. Not in this lifetime." I planted a kiss on her cheek as we walked towards the private plane that'll take us to Balesin Island.
My father insisted that Mackenzie and I should have a quick vacation and we took the bait. There stood another building of The Foyers. It is one of the intricate and private estates in the island. I think it is one of the expensive one. As far as I know, 15 million pesos is the membership cost for those who want to go to the island though the membership starts at 3 million so I guess that's affordable. Zie and I don't have to pay anything when we get there. Everything has already been catered by my parents.
When we finally settled in the private plane that'll take us to the island, it only took us roughly twenty minutes when we finally landed on the private island. May naghihintay naman sa aming van doon. They helped us with our luggages and put it in the van.
It wasn't like the buildings in the cities. Foyers' villas are scattered near the main building that only has three floors. There are rules and we must abide with it.
After getting our room keys, they directed us to our villas. When we were left inside the villa, we couldn't help but admire the place.
"It's so nice in here," I said, looking around. "Parang hindi naiiba sa mansion."
"And look at the towel swans on the bed," she pointed it out and I looked at it. Napangiti lang ako dahil may nagkalat pang red roses petals sa paligid. It was lovely. I once got into the Foyers in Makati, sobrang lawak ng space at maaliwas. It is the same but I think the Island type of Foyers are one of a kind.
