Special Chapter 1 The new chapter of our story
"I'm going to be a father. I'm going to be a father." Paulit-ulit kong binibigkas iyon habang tinatahak namin ang daan papunta sa hospital.
"This is not the time to panic, Kai," my wife said, and then she groaned in pain.
"I'm not packing. I am calm."
"Oh, really?! Look at you! You're sweating more than I am!" she exclaimed.
"I know and I prepared for this! The actual moment made me nervous. This isn't what we've expected."
"But he's coming out, Kai. We need to hurry." She said and grabbed the sleeves of my shirt and almost ripped it out because she's in too much pain and seeing her in that situation was unbearable. I was like the one who's going to give birth and the fact that she's giving birth to a human is a bit excruciating, but I know this is normal so I shouldn't worry about it.
"We're a little close to the hospital now, hun. You'll be fine."
"No, I won't be fine or else, I'll give birth inside the car and that's embarrassing."
"We won't let that happen, hun."
Just like what I said to her, we're closer to the hospital and as soon as we got there, I helped her out of the car and then the hospital staff immediately helped us. She sits in a wheelchair and headed to the labor room. Sumunod na lang din naman ako at nang maipasok si Zie sa loob ng labor room ay nanatili naman ako sa labas at sinimulang tawagan ang parents niya maging ang parents ko. Good thing, they all answered the call and will be here as soon as possible.
I'm not sure how long it will take for Mackenzie to give birth, but I'm also dreading it. I'm not prepared for what's coming in my way.
When we knew about her pregnancy, I'm not really sure what to feel. The excitement and tension combined. But knowing that we'll be having a family, I'm excited for what the future could give us and this is the moment we've been waiting for.
All the stress, mood swings, cravings, and pregnancy-yoga exercises are all worth it now. I couldn't even start on how happy I am. I just couldn't believe that our son will be coming as early as we have never expected. I can't believe that at the age of 22, I'm going to be a father.
A father! Many people will say that I'm still young to have a family that at this age, we should be living the life of a married couple, but we never expected that Mackenzie would be pregnant as early as now.
"Sir," pagtawag sa akin ng isang nurse. Lumingon naman ako sa kanya at binaba ko ang phone na hawak ko. "Are you the husband of Miss Foyer?" Tumango naman ako sa tanong niya. "Please get inside. She needs your support."
