I followed my dad as he walked out after Eve. She was standing outside of my room just looking in. She looked like she was about to cry, but she did not move, she just stood there. It made it too easy for my dad to cut her off. He walked into my room and shut the door behind him. making it clear that he did not want her to follow.
I watched as Dad walked over and sat on my bed.
"Come on, Dad. You've gotta help me. I've gotta get better, I've gotta get back in here." I tried to tell him.
"I mean, you haven't called a soul for help. You haven't even tried. Let Eve in here. She can help." I tried telling him.
"Aren't you going to do anything? Aren't you even going to say anything?" I pleaded with him, but he did not answer. He just started walking around the bed.
"I've done everything you've ever asked me. Everything. I have given everything I've ever had. And you're just going to sit there and you're going to watch me die? I mean, what the hell kind of father are you?" I yelled at him but then paused when I heard a strange noise.
"What is that?" I asked as I followed the noise down the hallway.
I stopped as what looked like a spirit whooshed past me. I jumped back in shock.
"I take it you didn't see that." I said to Dad.
I followed the spirit down the hallway. I watched as it went into a back hallway. There was a woman lying on the floor. It looked like she was choking.
"Help! Help!" She yelled.
"Hey! I need some help in here!" I yelled but no one answered.
"I can't... breathe!" She pants loudly, trying desperately to breathe, then she goes silent.
I leaned over her body and looked at her helplessly.
