I watched as Sam flipped through Dad's journal. He stopped on the page that read Reapers.
I started reading what I could see. A part of the text caught my attention, and everything just clicked in place.
"Son of a bitch." I said then hurried out of the room.
I entered Tessa's old room to see it was empty, but she was sitting on the edge of the bed. She also was dressed now in a black pants suit.
"Hi, Dean." She said when I entered.
"You know, you read the most interesting things. For example, did you know that reapers can alter human perception?" I asked her.
"I sure didn't. Basically, they can make themselves appear however they want. Like, say a pretty girl. You're much prettier than the last reaper I met." I tell her.
"I was wondering when you would figure it out." She responded not even trying to deny it.
"I should have known. The whole "accepting fate" rap of yours is far too laid back for a dead chick. But the mother, and the body, I'm still trying to figure that one out." I said to her.
"It's my sandbox, I can make you see whatever I want." She told me.
"What, is this like a turn-on for you? What, toying with me?" I ask her, annoyed.
"You don't give me much choice. You saw my true form and you flipped out. Kinda hurts a girl's feelings. This was the only way I could get you to talk to me." She told me.
"Okay, fine. We're talking. What the hell do you want to talk about?" I asked her.
"How death is nothing to fear." She said to me as she reached out to touch my face.
"It's your time to go, Dean. And you're living on borrowed time already." She told me.
I was about to say something when there was a loud popping noise in the distance.
"What was that?" I asked her.
"Someone else has crossed over." She answered me.
Johns POV
I was in the boiler room where I knew no one would find me. I had finished drawing the symbol I needed and had placed the candles. I had the bowl I needed. Everything was ready. I started speaking the summoning ritual in Latin. When I was done, I pulled out my knife and slid it across my palm.
I let my blood drip into the bowl. I lit a match and dropped it in when I was sure there was enough blood. The sand in the bowl flares brightly and then goes out. Once it was done, I stood up and started looking around. When a hand grabs my shoulder.
I turn around to see a janitor.
"What the hell are you doing down her, buddy?" He says to me.
"I can explain." I tried to tell him.
"Yeah? You're going to explain to security. Come on. You follow me." He told me.
When his back was turned, I pulled out the colt and cocked it.
"Hey. How stupid do you think I am?" I asked him.
The man turned around and his eyes were glowing yellow.
"You really want an honest answer to that?" He said to me.
I turn around to see two possessed men in lab coats walk up and stand behind me.
"You conjuring me, John. I'm surprised. I took you for a lot of things. But suicidally reckless wasn't one of them." He tries to taunt me.
"I could always shoot you." I respond as I point the gun at him.
"You could always miss." He then laughs at me. "And you've only got one try, don't cha? Did you really think you could trap me?" He asks.
"Oh, I don't want to trap you." I told h I'm as I lowered the gun. "I want to make a deal." I told him and he looked at me intrigued.
