The next morning Dean woke me up and let me know that whenever I was ready we were heading out. I sat up from the uncomfortable coat I was sleeping on and he started to walk away.
"Wait." I said as I reached out and grabbed his hand. "Can we talk?" I asked him.
"Sure." He said as he sat down on the coat next to me.
"I don't want to be that girl, but I need to know. What are we?" I asked him.
"Come on seriously, do you really have to ask?" He questioned.
"Yes I do, because you're impossible to read. Sometimes you act and say things that make me feel like you can't even stand to look at me. Then yesterday you called me your girlfriend. You haven't called me that since we were sixteen. I just need to know Dean. I need to know what you want, because I'm all in." I told him.
It felt good to get it off my chest. What I had been holding in science I saved him from that reaper. He didn't answer me, instead he just looked down to my hand that was still holding his. I was starting to regret bringing it up.
"Dean?" I questioned softly as I released his hand causing his eyes to snap up to mine.
"Never mind. Just forget that I asked. Give me a few minutes and I'll be ready to leave." I told him as I tossed the blanket off my lap.
"I don't know Eve." He answered.
"How can you not know?" I asked him as I tried to hold it together.
"It's so easy, so easy to fall back into what we used to have. It's crazy, sometimes it's like I never left. I like the idea of us picking up where we left off. Fixing us, putting us back together as if I never left. But I did, I did leave and we are different now." He answered.
"By different, you mean I'm a witch." I corrected him.
"I'm not okay with it, Eve. It freaks me out." He replied.
"Do I scare you?" I asked him.
"Sometimes yeah." He answered.
"That's not fair to me." I told him.
"I know." He replied.
"I can't be half in anymore." I said. "If you don't think you can be all in this ends now."
He reached out and cupped my face in one of his hands. I leaned into his touch as if it was the most natural thing in the world. He leaned in and placed a soft kiss on my lips. Instinctively I kissed him back before my brain caught up and I pulled away from him.
"No! Dean! You can't just kiss me to try and distract me!" I yelled at him.
"I'm not trying to distract you. I want to give this a try. A real try." He told me.
"Do you mean it?" I asked him not being able to handle this if it was a joke.
"I mean it. We owe it to ourselves to try. I know I will regret it if I don't." He answered.
"Okay, let's do this." I replied as I smiled at him.
"Let's go!" Same yelled as he peeked his head in through the door and then disappeared.
I couldn't help but laugh as Sam disappeared.
"I should get ready before he comes back." I said as I rolled out of the bed.
"Do you need assistance?" He teased me.
"No, I can manage. You go see what is going on with Sam." I told him before placing a short kiss on his cheek.
