14 - Sarawat's POV

CHAPTER 14
Sarawat’s POV
I arrived at work a little late, I sent Tine off to his work place first. Well I want to see how it looks like in person.  “ooh, you’re late today” I was shocked when Boss pushed me from the back “yeah, Tine starts his internship now so I sent him” “will you be late like this from now on? Lady boss might not like it if you told her that you sent your lover to work. You know that you’re her favorite” said Boss.  “I didn’t ask her to make me her favorite employee you know? Ms. Ploy just like my appearance just like all the kids back in college” “well she is quite annoying, I didn’t even tell her about Pear, I don’t know but she believes having a lover distracts peolple from everything”
“she must’ve been broken hearted before, too bad all my friends are taken” I told him “yeah, specially Man who chose Tine’s brother over us” the two of us laughed “you’re late” when suddenly Lady boss caught us laughing on the hallway “I’m so sorry Ms. Ploy, I had an urgent matter to attend to that is why I got here late” “what urgent matter is it?” “his younger brother Ms. Ploy. When Sarawat got back he brought his brother with him so he will be late for quite some time. His parents are out of the country as of the moment,  so he needs to attend to his brother who is just 11 years old” “are you Sarawat? Why are you answering the questions I asked him?” “because he speaks slowly Ms. Ploy it might take forever if he explains it, don’t worry what I’ve said is all true I’m his best friend so I know everything”              
“you’re such a gift from up above Boss, who knew you could reason out to her like that?” thank God I had him, I was saved from interrogation. “you have to really be careful around Ms. Ploy, Wat.  I am 100% sure that she has a thing for you, so be careful not to lead her on and talk to her professionally only. If you don’t want your wife to lean on to P’Mil again and leave your place again. You know well how he gets jealous easily” “that won’t happen again Boss, I’m gonna take good care of my wife. And besides, this is not the only work I can apply for. If the day that I feel very uncomfortable comes, I’ll just quit”
“yeah, wife comes first more than friends. So even if I’ll be alone here you’re willing to leave me just so Tine won’t get jealous. That’s just so loyal of you” Boss frowned “you won’t understand because you are still not tied up to Pear yet. Why don’t you ask her to officially date you, so you can undertand my point and Man’s point of moving to phuket for P’Type? You know what it was all for the best,  P’Type found a perfect job for Man there. And they don’t have to be apart from each other so it was the best choice for him too.” “after one has found someone to love and take care for the rest of his or her life everything just changes right? Or maybe it’s because they want to adjust for that person rather than having that person adjust for them” . I don’t really know about what Boss just said, if it’s a change in between us or adjusting. Because it’s not just me who adjusted, Tine did aswell.  But I think it doesn’t really matter just as long it all works out well for us. But Boss could be right too, I was the one who looked for Tine for 2 years so maybe most of the time I don’t want him to adjust any of his habits just for me. “Mr. Gunthithanon, Ms. Ploy would like to have you on her office” said her secretary “ok, I’ll be there”

“Ms. Ploy? What is it that I can help you with?” “our company was invited for an important summit. I am too occupied to go, I was supposed to reject it but a client has sent the invitation herself. And I don’t want her to feel bad if we rejected it and cancel our partnership with her company. So I want you and Mr. Boss to go instead, this could be also a training for you as an intern. I have already briefed Mr. Boss and he said if you’re willing to take the offer he will aswell. Don’t worry, if our client gives a positive feedback on your performance, you will be rewarded and become a fulltime employees. So? What do you say?”

“actually Ms. Ploy, it’s really a great offer. And I believe both Boss and I will gain a lot of knowledge from this summit. But the thing is, I have to consider someone’s decision before I make my own. But don’t worry, I’ll get back to you after I have finally decided”. At lunch, Boss and I ate at the company canteen, “did Ms. Ploy told you about the summit already?” “yeah, I can’t believe she expects me to give her an answer that fast. I mean, I’m already taken you know? Before, just two weeks that I’ve gone out to practice Tine has already cried so hard. It wasn’t even that far, what more if it’s out of the town?”
“I can’t really tell, but it’s different this time man. There is no P’Dim who’ll confiscate your phone anymore. You can call him when your free, and you can talk to him” “I admit, that it’s really a great offer. And we can even advance if the client likes our performance, when we get back we will be full time employees. But I have to ask my wife about it. I can’t just agree to it without considering how Tine will feel. What if he cries harder this time? Lady boss haven’t even informed us how long we will be gone.”
Will Tine agree to it? I am even not sure how many days I’ll be gone. What if he gets home sick? Am I acting way too much? Or am I just not used to being away from him? When I got back home, P’Mil was there typing papers with my brother. It felt so new that Tine is not there when I get back from work. “Sawadee krap P’Mil” I greeted him “wadee,  didn’t you come back with Nong Tine?” he asked “no, our work schedule is different. He gets off work later than me”.. answering that question made me realize that either Phukong or I should really learn how to cook or we’ll both starve if Tine does work over time. And I don’t want Tine to cook when he gets back, he’ll only get more tired. I don’t want that to happen. “this is new, can both of you even cook?” P’Mil laughed “uh, not really P but I’m learning as of the moment” answered Phukong. Oh well, I guess I’ll really have to ask someone to teach me. After P’Mil left our place, I decided to call Green. I bet he cooks for P’Mil too and he used to cook for Tine all the time before when he was still hitting on him.. he might be able to help me.
“sawadee krap,  Green”
“Sarawat? What a surprise, why are you calling my wife?”
“P’Dim? Why are you answering? Isn’t this suppose to be Green’s phone?”
“you sound so formal with my wife but sounds so rude talking to me, hearing that voice I think you found trouble. What do you need with my wife?”
“just put him on the line will you?”
“just talk, it’s on the speaker phone”

“yeah, whatever! I just want to ask him when he’ll be free to teach me to cook? You see Tine just started internship. He gets off work later than me, and neither me or Phukong knows how to cook a proper food but fried eggs. I don’t want him to still do the cooking when he gets back from work”
“does your brain properly work? Look Sarawat, for sure Tine has days off. Why don’t you ask him then to teach you and Phukong. That can serve as your bonding as well. If you learn from someone else he might doubt where you learned how to cook or who taught you. Commonly, only girls know how to cook so he might  doubt you. It’s better f you just let him teach you. And it’s way more sweeter, don’t you think?”
“but I am not sure if he has days off, he is still an intern you know?”
“of course there is! Everyone should have one even interns. So spend that asking him to teach you so that you can return the favor and soothe him. That will make him happy for sure. Just trust me”
“ok, I hope that works”
“I’m gonna drop the call off now, you just ruined my dinner with my wife you dumbass!”
“ok, ok bye… thanks”

*knocks*
“P, I think P’Tine is home” I came running to open the door.. “hi babe” I kissed his cheeks to greet him “hi, how was your day?” he asked “it was really great P. P’Mil took me to eat some delicious food”. This jerk, my wife asked me not him “really? Did you enjoy the day?” ”yes P, and I got back safe too as promised. Thanks for giving me your permission to go out” “anytime as long as you are back safe and sound. How about my boyfriend? How was work?”. Wow can’t believe he still wants to talk to me “oh, didn’t notice you finished checking on my brother first than me” I frowned “uh, babe don’t sulk anymore please? I was just worried if he got into any trouble” he hugged me saying that.
“he was with his boyfriend all day, how is he supposed to get in trouble? You were so worried for him but you weren’t for me” he kissed me to shut me “sorry. Don’t be sulky now, I love you more than anyone so don’t be mad now. I am so tired from  the first day, I badly want to tell you how my day went out don’t you want to listen? And I brought you chicken curry. Both you and Phukong loves this right?”. He is acting so cute now “don’t make that face, it’ll melt my heart. Ok, ok I am not mad now” I smiled..
“so all you needed was a kiss from me?” we both laughed “even though I love the curry you cook so much more than this, I’ll have to make this work for now” I smiled, eating this made me remember 2 months after our graduation. We decided to take a break so we didn’t apply and just enjoyed our time with each other. Now, we are both busy with work.. time really flew by fast.
“so? Did you enjoy work?” I asked “you could say that, I felt the fun but got tired analyzing cases half day. I even think I over used my brain today, it’s even more tiring when I was taking the bored exams for 2 weeks. It was so hard, I don’t even remember that day anymore. But today, I felt like I grew so much than who I was back in college. I felt very mature today, and even if I felt so tired I feel so proud, so proud that I think I’m ready to see my parents in US.”
“seriously? It’s even your first day. But I feel so much proud much more than you do. You are now achieving your dreams and I am happy for you. I love you babe and that is why I feel proud of you”
“I am now getting nervous.  P’Tine has been gone for just one  whole day and P’Wat has been saying endless cheesy words that I’ve never heard him say to mom.  What more the next day? Will I cringe all over while staying here?”. Well, maybe Phukong is right. I act a little different when I miss someone specially my wife. I can miss anyone else just not my wife…
