CHAPTER 18
Sarawat’s POV
“hello Boss? So did my wife really come? What did he say to Lady Boss”
“sorry Wat, Lady Boss shooed me away when they talked. She brought Tine to her office and when I got back out to grab a drink, Tine already left so I don’t really know what they talked about. But I think there is nothing to worry about, Tine is not the type to cause a fight with others. And for sure Lady Boss must still be processing the fact that Tine told her, that he is your boyfriend. She must really be heartbroken by now”
“stop all the teasing will you? I am not worried about what Lady Boss would say about my relationships. What I am worried about is that Tine might misunderstand that I didn’t tell my boss about him. And also he can sense someone who has the possibility to like me, and he might overthink all over again that I might leave him”
“you are the ones who is overthinking. You haven’t even seen Tine since morning, how would you know that? Can you tract what he is thinking? Are you a mind reader? Stop thinking about it. If you get stressed and have a more serious fever, you’ll just trouble a lot of people, Tine will get worried but he can’t leave work so he’ll get distracted and make mistakes. He won’t be able to rest too because he’ll look after you, then he’ll have me cover up for your papers and then I’ll be the one who’ll get sick after from over working. You can’t let that happen just because of a matter you are not sure about yet… so just rest and don’t annoy me”
“ok, fine. I’ll drop the call now. Call me again if anything happens at work”

“calm down P, I don’t want P’Tine to scold me for not taking care of you. By the way, I already heated the soup he cooked earlier in the morning. Come eat with me now”. I started to eat with Phukong but I am still bothered about what Tine will say when he gets back. “you know what P? if you haven’t been coming home I would’ve forgot how you are as a person” “what are you talking about Phukong? We grew up together, how can that possibly happened?”
“every little habit of yours slowly changed after you met P’Tine. You don’t usually get worried if it’s not related to important matters. Like family, work or school and you don’t usually check comments on your instagram after you post something. And you also don’t do social media before” “just get to the point will you?”

“what I am trying to say is that, the Sarawat who usually don’t care about anything if it’s not important now pays attention to even the most little thing as long as it’s about or it’s concerning P’Tine.  Do you know what’s even weird? Remember when mom pranked us that our house was about to be seized, your expression was like nothing happened. But me and dad was already crying, you look even more worried about what P’Tine might think about you not telling work about him”
“I admit to that, I changed a lot because I learned how to be considerate about others when I met Tine. Because to be able to take good care of him like I promised his brother, I have to be considerate of him. Yes, I did change a lot but it was all because I have searched for Tine all over and you know that. I don’t want to lose him, I already did once and It felt terrible. It’s as if I was being burned down to ashes in hell, so as much as possible I won’t let that happen again”
After lunch, Phukong continued his research paper. While I on the other hand kept on checking my IG in case Tine’s friends posted something on their stories. But I had been refreshing for minutes but there’s none. And Tine don’t check his social media at work. He doesn’t even post anything about his work, he’s that dedicated to succeed in being a lawyer.  I kept on refreshing without even noticing that I fell asleep already.
When I woke up, Tine was sleeping silently beside our bed sitting on a chair and holding my hand, it was already dinner time. He looked so tired, I don’t even want to move because I’m scared he’ll wake up. He’ll worry about me again, I think I won’t get drunk ever again. If that’ll make my wife restless then I better just stay at home. “babe, why don’t you lie down beside me? Mmm? Is work heavy today? You looked so tired” I caressed his face.
“no, I am ok. Are you feeling better now? I thought about you all day thinking if you drank your medicines on the right time. When I arrived Phukong said that you did what he said obediently. I feel relieved now” he smiled even if he’s too tired “I’m sorry if I made you worry and restless. I promise, I won’t get drunk again” “let’s not talk about that for now. I just feel relieved that you are all good now, I cooked your favorite chicken curry. Let’s eat now? Can you get up?”. Seeing him all worried and restless just because of a slight fever, I wish I can marry you right here, right now..
“Tine, marry me?” “what are you saying? You’re on this thing again, I’m pretty sure you can get up on your own now since you’re already joking. I’ll go first, I’ll set up the table. Come now”
Now, I am sure that I want Tine. I want him as my wife, no matter what comes in our way I’ll make sure that we will never ever break up.

The next day, I was so blessed to wake up next to my wife again. I kissed his forehead to wake him up. “goodmorning babe” he smiled even if he’s still half asleep. He’s so cute… “babe, check my phone for me. Fong said he’ll send me a copy of the intern’s schedule”. I held his phone from the bed side table and checked his line, DMs, and emails.  “babe, Fong said that today is the intern’s day off. He even asked you to hang out with the gang. What shall I tell him?” “don’t type, just give him a call. I’ll talk to him”. He said that without even opening his eyes, such a baby.
“hello Fong”
“so? Are you up for it? Let’s hang out!”
“sorry. But I think you should go on without me, it’s my first dayoff and I want to make up to my boyfriend and Phukong. I’ll stay at home and take care of them”
“yeah, your such a family oriented guy now. Fine take care of them whole day, can’t really blame you. Boyfriend always comes first before friends right?”
“hey! Stop it! I just want to make up for a week of not taking care of my boyfriend. What’s so wrong about that?”
“nothing, I said nothing. Ok just stay there, I won’t fight and argue about this anymore”
“mmm, enjoy your day out”

“your so sweet babe” I just can’t help but tell him that “I’m off work today, what do you want to eat? I’ll cook for you” “P, cook pork stew! I’ve been eating that curry for days that I already know how to cook it your way. Can you cook a different dish this time? You always favor what P’Wat tells you” Phukong growned “oh, I’m his boyfriend so why not?” “ok, ok, you both promised that you won’t fight. Today I’ll cook pork stew for Phukong to taste. But in exchange, you have to clean the house Sarawat and I will go out to buy groceries.”
“huh? I thought you’re cooking for me? Why not let me come with you buy the groceries and have him clean our place?” now he’s having his own conditions? “don’t nag anymore ok? Just do it! He already did you a favor by cooking you what you want over what me, his husband told him. Spare this time for us to have a private time will you? My dearest brother?”
“fine, I’ll clean the place.” His face looks so funny. As I drive on the way to the market Tine kept on laughing about something silently. He is just showing his face like an idiot. “what are you smiling about? Are you getting crazy?” “mmm? I just felt funny about what you said to Phukong. Wat, I’ve been an intern just for a week and I come back home at night but the way you talk to Phukong feels like you haven’t seen me in that one whole week that I was working” “it feels like that. You go to work early and come back late. I even wonder what your work really is, are you an intern at a law firm or are you a call center agent” “don’t nag will you? I’m off from work today so lets spend the most of it. What more should I do to make up for it? I didn’t join my friends to hang out already. What more do you want?”
“mmm, let’s go watch a  football game together. I’ve always wanted to take you, so what do you say?” I know that Tine isn’t really into football, back at college he just watches because I play and I want him to cheer for me. I even got sulky once that our coach punished me, I didn’t play because he wasn’t there on the fields when the game started. I was really childish then but only for Tine.
“ok, let’s go watch one game together. Any team you want to see play, but after one game let’s go back home. We have to rest, for tomorrow we have to get back to work” “you are so dedicated to work now. We haven’t even started the day yet and you’ve been thinking about work. Let’s just do what we planned, think about work later ok?” “ok, ok. Let’s do the grocery now, Phukong must be really frowning”. Looking at him carefully looking at the vegetables and fruits also spending our money together wisely makes me think that we look like a married couple already.
“what are you smiling about? You look crazy” he said “mmm? Nothing, I was just staring at you. You look cute spending money wisely” “of course we should. Money don’t rain in Thailand, I think you’re well aware of that. And, we can’t tire ourselves working just to buy things that are not useful and nonsense. In order to live we must have money, and to preserve money we should think wisely about which should be bought and which is not”
“I know, I know. You don’t have to nag just for a very few words that I said you know? Are you done, I’m getting hungry now.  And you said you are worried for Phukong who might be frowning right now” “we still have poultry left on the list, but you can just go wait for me at the car. I can manage” “you can, I but I can’t who knows what’ll happen? Market is not a very safe place you know?”. If my friends just heard what I said, they’ll probably think that I’m clingy.  I don’t even know since when did I start to act like a clingy towards Tine. Maybe I just missed hanging out with him ever since he started working, I’m still not used to it. Maybe I will never get used to not having him around me at home.. I miss him even if he comes back at home at night..
