26 - Sarawat's POV

CHAPTER 26
Sarawat’s POV
We all sat together as we eat breakfast. Yes, I was so nervous but Tine was holding my hand so I think I go through this just fine. ”First meal with the persons who loves my sons.  Don’t worry, I am not a brutal person I just want to ask a few questions” his dad said “ask away sir, “ Man sounded very confident that he can answer the questions that will be thrown to him “how long have you been with Tine? I’ve heard about him moving in with you. I didn’t say anything because I respect my son’s decision. I believe that I have raised him the best that I could for him to be able to make acceptable decisions. But atleast tell me how long have you been together for him to trust you this much”
It was Man who answered him with confidence, why did he have to ask me first? “uh, Tine and I have been together for almost 3 years sir. We met during college, and move in together during that time” I answered him calmly “3 years is long. Thank you for staying with Tine for that long, he has never stayed that long with his past relationships before. He must love you so much for that 3 years to go on. Mr. Sarawat I only have on request for you, staying with my son requires patience. I believe that  don’t have to remind you that because you’ve been already patient enough with him for 3 years.  But I hope you stay loyal with him, take care of him, love him and look after him for me. Can you do that for me? I’ll face all the consequences, just promise me that you’ll stay beside him for me”
“I’ll do it not because you ask of me sir, but because I really love Tine. I have been beside him for 3 years and I have been doing my best to take good care of him in that 3 years of being together. I promise you that I’ll continue to do so, will you give me Tine’s hand sir?” what am I even asking? “do you want to marry my son?” “yes sir” “I’ll let you have him, but not now. I want to see my son become whoever he expects himself to be before settling down with anybody. If you can patiently wait for that day to come then I’ll personally tell you to marry Tine”
Tine’s dad is really a righteous man. Imagine, all he wanted was to see Tine reach his dreams before becoming someone else’s property. That is just as exact as what I have dreamed for Tine too. Tine worked hard in law back in college, just like his dad I don’t want him to put that to waste too. Waiting will make our relationship stronger so it won’t hurt to wait for a couple more of years to come. “same goes to you Man, I have a lot of expectations for Type as my eldest. If he can already sustain for himself then I will let him get married” his dad added

“getting married is a very serious thing. Even if you guys are living together right now it doesn’t mean you are already experienced in married life. Even if I can see how much you guys love each other, it doesn’t mean that I can let you guys be. I want you guys to have more time to think about it on a very serious basis, if you can really do it then do it. But test yourself out first, you have bear every consequence there is. There is no turning back in marriage, you can’t spill it out if you can’t do it. Take my words to your heart if you really want to marry my sons” he added. After breakfast, his dad asked us to talk to him alone.
“I’m giving you a chance here to tell me your story here. I want to know you guys more. I don’t want to welcome strangers in my family you see..” “story? I am just a normal guy sir. I came from an average family too, there is really nothing to tell about my story” laughed Man “well, I heard from Type that you are the hardworking type. You know that has put me at ease, I like people who work hard for the people they love. I hope you continue to be just like that, but don’t forget to rest too” he is so good at giving advices too.. he is a good dad.. “what about you Sarawat? Tell me about your story. Tine seems to be so close with your family”
“well, Tine and my younger brother are pretty close. And I’ve already brought Tine to my hometown to meet my parents so it does look like that. Yes, this is a fact that I am a little popular in college but my family is also the average one. My dad is a police officer, I studied hard in school, and I have a housewife mom. I don’t have an ideal partner. I just want someone who loves and accepts how weird I am and that is your son, sir” “you don’t know how much this shocked me that both my sons are gays and is dating someone in the same gender. But no matter how shocked you are, if you love this persons being mentioned then you are willing to accept them how ever they are”
“sir, thank you. For accepting us, at first P’Type kept on scaring me saying that his dad is a scary one but I don’t really think so. People tend to become scary when it talks about people they care about and I get that a lot, and I understand that too.” Added Man.. after the talk with his dad, his dad continued to rest while Man, searched for P’Type, I stayed at the beach to feel the peace there is.. “are you ok? What did dad say?” Tine suddenly came to me at the beach “he is not as scary as what we imagined him to be. He just cared so much for you and P’Type, and he wants you guys to succeed first before doing anything else. Your dad is a nice guy, he told me a lot and taught me about the truth of life. I can’t always act like this but I can always take good care of you regardless of my mood and that is what I promised him” “so? Is he not mad?” “he wasn’t mad at all, he was just worried that I won’t be able to take good care of you and that I’ll leave you behind. But I gave him much more than enough proof that it won’t ever happen because I love you and nothing will ever change that fact Tine. Actually I feel relieved that I already talked it out with your dad. Now, there is nothing to be worried or scared about because he knows it all and is ok with it.”. “I want to hang out more with them around, but you see my parents are not really that outgoing. P’Type and I was planning to have a mini beach party right here with them. The thing is, will they join us?” he’s worried about such a little thing “why not? We’re just gonna eat. Don’t think too much, it’s ok. Try to ask them out.”
“I was looking all over the place for you guys because I felt alone. But seems like you are having your mini privacy here, I think I should just go” Phukong looked bad sulking, it doesn’t really suit him “how did you feel alone when you were sleeping all noon. Are you sure you feel lonely?” teased Tine “yeah! I woke up feeling so hungry but no one is in the kitchen. I didn’t bother to knock at P’Type’s room. Who knows what unpleasant things I’ll see there” he frowned “you don’t have to go that far in reasoning, you could just tell that you want Tine to cook for you” I laughed at him
“stop it you two, I’ll go inside and cook some snacks. Will sweet popcorn do?” Tine asked “you can make sweet popcorn P? that’s just the greatest thing on earth.. let’s go for it!!” he even shouted like he has never tasted it before.. “ok, ok, calm down.. I’ll go cook it now. You guys better stay silent” Phukong and I nodded before Tine left to cook at the kitchen.. “so? How did it go P? did P’Tine’s dad say something to you?” “yeah, he taught me a couple of things. He’s even nicer than I imagined, his dad is a great guy holding a respectable image.”
“he seems to be pleased with both of you. I think there is nothing to worry about, I mean he’s been looking at you guys from up there and he didn’t seem to be mad at all” I was supposed to look at where Phukong was referring too but he stopped me “don’t look, or he’ll find out. He’s just up there at the second floor and he’s been looking at you guys for quite sometime. He was just observing how happy his son is”.. “let’s go and watch P’Tine cook, we only stayed here for a couple of days and I’m starting to miss home already. Our place must be feeling lonely too, don’t you think P?”
“I guess, you got used to our place already? That’s just funny, Tine misses our place too.. but don’t feel too lonely, we’re going back in a couple of days so it’s fine. Let’s go watch Tine cook, I want to see him cook too. I held Phukong’s arm and went to see Tine at the kitchen cooking sweet popcorn for us.. “babe, our little pet wants to go back home already” “don’t mention me, I want to go back too but everytime I remember my paper works I feel like staying here for a couple of days more” we all laughed at what Tine said.. we spent this day well, I hope everyday is spent well like this..

At dinner time, Phukong and Man was talking about something funny that they kept on laughing at it. “Phukong, mind your manners. It’s already dinner time” Tine reminded him “sorry P,” “Phukong right? You’re so close to Tine, how did that happen?” I can see my brother’s hands trembling now, when Tine’s mom asked him a question “uh, mom Phukong goes into the same university as we do so basically he is my junior. And he and Sarawat fights childishly quite often so I get in between them from time to time when they fight” Tine explained “our bond just got closer when P’Tine became a substitute guardian for me when I moved to bangkok with them aunt” added Phukong
“really? So you stay with your brother and Tine in their place then? That’s cute, Tine hates being surrounded with people in the past the he didn’t even want to get out of his room. This is a surprise, tell me does my son nag you like a mom?” “yes aunt, from time to time when I go out with friends and come back late or when I’m still asleep when he leaves the place. But I got used to it, my mom sort of told me to listen to P’Tine at all costs when I’m still in bangkok” Phukong explained “when you guys go out to shop at the mall and bring Phukong with you, it looks like he’s your child. At first or at the eyes of the others it looks weird. But it does kind of look cute, I mean I only learned about different kinds of love when I found out that my sons decided to protect men and not women. Just know that we are ok with it, as long you promise never to hurt my precious gems”
“dad, stop being dramatic. It’s 21st century already, no one gets emotional over this kinds of things and besides you are still not marrying us off right? So there’s no need for that dramas. We’re old enough to face those kinds of criticisms and besides I won’t let any of those words get to Tine, I don’t want him to break up with a very famous and popular football player at Huachiew Chalermprakiet University before, I’m a shipper secretly” we all laughed “keep your promises until the next time that we come back here. If you guys are still together by then, then I’ll marry my sons off” his dad said..
After dinner, Tine and I spent time with Phukong near the beach “dad said, we can spend the remaining days having a trip off Phuket. Where do you want to go?” Tine asked “P, let’s go at a place where there is yummy food and nice view” “hey, there’s tons of places like that here. Can you be more specific?” I asked him again “should we ask P’Man? I’m sure he knows something, maybe he can help us decide “I’ll look into it and ask Man too. Are we good with that plan?” I think our stay here might become a very unforgettable memory. I met Tine’s parents and they turned out to be nicer than I expected, and Tine and I get to talk about things too.. it was fun, the memory is something I never thought I would enjoy…
