I wake up to the sound of rain pattering against the window.

The rain has always been something I loved. The smell of the air I think is my favorite.

I sit up in bed, turning slightly to see River fast asleep beside me. He's laying on his stomach, the side of his face resting against his arms.

Kissing his cheek I stand and walk over to his dresser. I pull out a shirt throwing it on before walking over to the window.

It's not storming but the rain is coming down fast.

An idea pops into my head. Something I had always wanted to do but never actually did.

I sit down on the bed and shake River.

"Wake up." I say softly and then shake him again.

He grumbles something under his breath and I straddle his back.

Placing my hands on his shoulder blades I begin to kiss down his spine.

I feel his back tense and I know he's awake.

Leaning in I whisper in his ear, "Riv it's raining."

He nods against his arm, "I know."

Why isn't he more excited about this?

I kiss the tip of his ear, "Let's go outside."

He goes to sit up and I almost fall out of the bed.

Luckily I turn in the last second so now I am laying on my back on the bed.

River looks down at me and I notice he is only wearing boxers.

"You want to go outside in the rain?" He asks and I nod.

I want to go dancing the rain actually.

He gets off the bed and I watch him throw on a pair of sweats.

Shifting so I am not sitting down I point towards the window, "It's the perfect weather and I've always wanted to dance in the rain."

He freezes, "You want to dance...outside.. in the rain?" He asks pausing a few times.

I get up out of the bed before finding my bag that had been tossed to the floor.

Pulling out a pair of cotton shorts I slide them up my legs.

"Yes now let me go brush my teeth and then we can go." I don't wait for his response as I bypass him and head into the bathroom.

River comes up beside me and we brush our teeth together. I almost choked on the toothpaste a few times trying not to laugh.

It's weird brushing my teeth with someone else in the same room.

After that I rush out of River's apartment barefoot.

My feet pat against the pavement of the road. No cars are around as I look up at the sky.

My eye lids squint as the rain falls down my body.

I look over at River who's standing on the sidewalk.

"Come on River, dance with me." I say twirling in circles.

If I had a bucket list this would definitely be on it.

I stick my hand out and I watch as he caves walking over to me and taking my hand.

My clothes stick against me as River twirls me with his hand in mine.
