Ashlynn and I have a shoot today.
It's been a week since Austin's call and I am doing better.
No one is walking on eggshells around me anymore.
The day after River took me for more driving lessons.
We went back on the freeway and I made it off without killing us.
I talked to my mom on the phone and explained everything. She said that Austin hadn't been around which was a good thing since grandma wanted to run him over with her wheelchair.
We laughed and cried and she told me that she hopes I find someone better.
Now I get what Ash meant when she first met me, 'You deserve better.'
It wasn't a dig at me, she genuinely thought I deserved better than Austin for whatever reason. She didnt even know he was cheating when she said that.
When I talked to her about it she said she has a sixth sense about these things.
I couldn't tell whether she was joking or not.
"Let's go." Ash calls out as I exit the apartment complex.
She's currently sitting in her car with the top off.
I climb into the passenger seat and am greeted with 'Creep' by Radiohead.
Ashlynn's music taste is limited to the 80's, 90's and early 2000's.
She said her only exception to that is anything by Young The Giant, Cage The Elephant, Lana Del Rey, and Arctic Monkey's.
As she pulls out onto the road she says, "I wonder why they are keeping this shoot a surprise."
I was wondering the same thing. Ana had called to let us know we would be doing a shoot together about two hours a way from where we lived.
When Ash asked about the details of the shoot Ana was very vague. She told us the gist of the shoot along with the things we needed to know.
Ashlynn was annoyed thinking Ana had something up her sleeve. Desiree said we shouldn't be worried but why would Ana keep it vague?
"Do you think it's a nude thing?" I ask and she shakes her head, "They'd have to disclose that before hand."
I let of a breath of relief.
Ash's phone rings in the center console, "Can you see who it is?" She asks and I pick up her phone.
The caller ID says, 'Unimportant.'
"It's unimportant?" I say slightly confused.
"Oh thats just my dad, you can decline the call." I do so before placing her phone back in the center console.
We drive in silence for about fifteen minutes, then I can't keep quiet any longer.
"How did you get into modeling?" I ask. She's never told me, but I knew she was scouted
We turn onto the freeway.
"A friend of mines mom 'discovered' me. I turned it down at first until I realized it would probably be better than living at my house." She says keeping her eyes on the road.
I play with the hem of my shirt, "do you have any siblings?"
"A brother."
"Can we play twenty questions?" I ask and her brows furrow, "Why?"
