27-Scandalous

I am still asleep I think. I hear a door open and shut followed by people walking against a hard wood floor. 

There are some murmurs and a groan from beside me. 

"Good morning my little fighters." Kai says and I wonder why he's in my dream. 

There is more grumbling followed by, "Kai I swear to god if I open my eyes and you're here I am kicking you in the baby maker." That sounded like Ash. 

"Now I think once was enough Ash." Kai says and I feel the couch dip beside me, followed by someone rubbing my arm. 

My eyes flutter open and I look up to see River. 

When he notices he smiles. 

Going to sleep with make up on was a bad idea. My lashes feel stuck together. 

I move my gaze over to see Kai standing beside the coffee table looking down. 

Ash is laying on the floor, with her face buried in her arms and Dez is asleep on the chair beside me. 

"How did you guys get in?" I ask my throat dry. 

Kai smirks holding up a key, "You guys really shouldn't keep the spare under the welcome mat. What a cliche."

My head falls back onto the couch pillow and I groan. 

"So Ash what did you do to cause all of this?" Kai asks and Ash rolls over, sitting up. 

"Why don't you ask little miss Ava what happened." She says and I glare at her. 

In a sense it was me that got us into all of that mess. The guy came up to me. 

Kai looks over to me, quirking an eyebrow. 

"What did you do?" He asks and my throat feels even more dry, does anyone have any water?

Ash snorts, "She was looking smoking hot last night, thats what happened."

Kai and River look between the two of us confused, while I hear Dez shift in the chair. 

"You know Ash these conversations would be shorter if you weren't always so cryptic." Kai says still looking confused. 

"Ava here got hit on by some creep who couldn't take no for an answer, now River I see your inner werewolf brewing and don't worry the asshole didn't touch her, Luca punched him in the face then I kneed him in the balls because I hate men who try and assert power. Next thing I know his girlfriend is attacking me." Ash says as she slowly stands up. 

"You guys are trending on twitter." Kai says, "According to this Ash you were hitting on the girls boyfriend and when she confronted you about it you hit her."

Ash snorts, "He wishes."

My phone rings and I see it's Ana. 

Oh no. 

I show my phone to Ash and she frowns, "Ignore that bitch we can deal with her later."

The phone stops ringing and Ash's rings next. 

We watch her phone until it stops, then Desiree's rings. 

She shoots up from her seat and answers it before any of us can stop her. 

Ash face palms herself. 

"Hi Ana." Dez says and I sit up. River puts his arm around me and I lay back into his chest. 

"Yes they're here too." I see Ash giving her a death glare. 

Dez just shrugs at her. 

"I saw and I promise it's a misunderstanding...I understand...Twelve o'clock?....All of us?....Yes of course....Goodbye Ana." She says before hanging up. 

She looks over at us, "Well um Ana saw the picture and she wants all of us to come in for a meeting today at twelve."

"Great." Ash says dryly. 

"I hope you know I am framing that picture, I should put it above the fire place. Ooo with a gold frame around it." Kai says and Ash throws her shoe at him. 

River rubs circles on my arm, "Are you ok?" He asks and I nod against him. 

"Yeah, I just hope I don't get fired." I say. 

If I do I would be forced to move back to Georgia. I really don't want to do that. 

Looking at the time I realize we have an hour before the meeting. 

The guys promise to come back later and Ash, Dez and I get ready for our meeting. 

"You know if she didnt have this stupid idea in the first place we wouldn't be here right now." Ash says as we walk into the building. 

The woman at the front desk checks us in and we head into one of the board rooms. 

"I wonder if Andi's will hire me." Dez says as we take a seat. 

We sit there for what feels like forever before Ana Cartwright walks into the room.

The look on her face tells me all I need to know. 

She is pissed and is blaming us. 

"Do you understand how scandalous this is?" She asks pulling the picture up on the board in front of the room. 

Ash snorts, "You're right Ana they didnt get my good side."

"Not the time to be a smart mouth Ashlynn." Ana says her tone clipped. 

"Do you have any idea how this makes you three look? How this makes my company look?" She asks looking at his accusingly. 

Ash sits up straighter, "Do you know degrading it is to be groped at a party? To have a guy not take no for an answer when you tell him you aren't interested?" Ash asks back. 

She looks like a scary momma bear right now. 

Ana looks taken aback, "What do you mean?"

"Well if you let us explain before attacking us off of the bat you would've learned that the launch party you made us go to was sketchy as fuck. The men there had never been to obedience training and the girl in that picture has a sleaze for a boyfriend, I don't think anything that went down was our fault." Ash says. 

Ana pinches the bridge of her nose, "You couldn't have tried a little harder Ashlynn?"

"You couldn't have picked a better place to have us go?" Ash fires back. 

She thinks Ana should have done more research before making us go. I agree with her. 

"And I do apologize for that, however, the three of you are in the spotlight. You should always be on your best behavior."

"We were that guy just wouldn't leave Ava alone. Please don't fire us." Dez says and Ana sighs. 

"I am not going to fire you guys." She says and I can't help the relief that washes over me. 

She sits down across from us and goes over everything as well as statements we will make online. 

After that the three of us head back to the apartment. The guys come over and we celebrate not getting fired.
