7-Married

Who knew red lipstick could look so good on someone. 

We are currently getting ready for dinner. Ashlynn stopped by about half an hour ago to get ready with me and Desiree. 

She just applied a deep fire truck red lipstick to her lips. She looks over at me before passing me the tube. I wave her off, "Trust me it would not look good on me."

Shrugging her shoulders she sets the tube on the counter, "It would but if you don't think so." She says now applying mascara to her lashes. 

I decide on a nude color gloss for my lips instead. 

Desiree comes into the bathroom holding up two dress. One is a long sleeve white dress and the other is a spaghetti strap orange dress. 

"Which one?" She asks showing both against her body. 

Ash points to the orange one, "Definitely that one." I agree and Dez goes to get changed. 

"Do you like Kai?" I blurt and mentally face palm myself. I shouldn't be so nosey, especially when we aren't even close. 

She pause before putting the mascara wand back in the tube. Then she turns to face me, resting a hand on the counter. 

I brace myself for her to snap, heck I would deserve it. 

Instead though she says, "No I don't. We slept together once when I first met Dez. He and the band helped her move in. It was awkward after and we just never were comfortable around each other." She admits before turning back and touching up her lipstick. 

I'm surprised she confided in me like this. I never imagined she would. 

Desiree comes back in the room wearing the orange dress.

"What do you guys think?" She asks doing a spin. 

"It looks amazing on you." I say truthfully. I could never pull off orange. 

She starts to do her makeup and I go to get changed. I put on a white and brown mid thigh length dress. 

The middle of the dress has a slit by the ribs on the right side. 

Then I slip on a pair of heels. I have been wearing a lot of heels since I moved here. 

Ashlynn gets dressed in a blue dress and we head out to the restaurant. 

When we get there we find everyone else already sitting at the table. Everyone greets each other and I see someone new. 

I learn her name is Delilah. Cole's wife. She has strawberry blonde hair that cascades down her back and she's wearing a pink dress. 

"I love that dress." I tell her and she smiles looking down at it, "Thanks it's a Delilah original."

"You make clothes?" I ask her as we take our seats. She nods, "Yeah if you ever want me to make you something just text me."

She writes her number on a napkin and hands it to me. A guy with tattoos comes to sit beside her. 

She snuggles into his side and I realize it's Cole. 

"Hi I'm Ava." I say and he nods greeting me, "I'm Cole and this is Delilah."

I smile at them before noticing who's sitting directly across from me. 

River sits there leaning against the chair. His grey eyes trained on me. I blush breaking eye contact and looking down at my plate. 

"So as you all know we are celebrating Ava's first official photo shoot which will be on billboards. Don't forget to tell you're moms, dads, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, dogs, and cats that Charé has a new face." Desiree says holding up her glass. 

Everyone else raises their glass and cheers. 

I smile taking a sip of my lemon water. 

Everyone at this table was happier for me than my own family. I should call my grandma I bet she would love to hear about it. 

We order food and the whole table erupts in conversation. 

I notice River drumming his fingers on the table. 

"I like your bracelet." I tell him pointing at the rope bracelet on his wrist. 

He looks down at it before looking back up at me, "It was from my sister."

I smile showing him my necklace, "My sister got me this I don't go anywhere without it on."

The necklace is a think silver chain with a small silver star pendent. 

He leans forward to get a better look. I pull it as far as I can from my neck to show him the pendent. 

"Cute." He says leaning back. I twist it on the chain a few times before letting it drop. 

"When a man proposes to me it better be with a ring like that." Desiree says making me take my attention off River. 

Desiree is holding Delilah's hand looking at the emerald ring on her finger. 

"Why green?" I ask and she holds it up to her face, "He said it matches my eyes."

She does have really green eyes. 

"When someone proposes to you, they should get you a blue stone like sapphire." Desiree says referring to my deep blue eyes. 

The conversation gets changed when Luca brings up some party he went to last night. 

Ashlynn pretends to listen but I see her reading something on her phone beside me. 

River is back to tapping his fingers against the table when food comes. 

We all start to eat and conversation just flows. 

I learn that Delilah goes to college for fashion design down in Alabama. Cole goes down to visit her as much as he can and she comes here to visit him and her best friend. 

Spencer turns out does the same thing. He goes down to visit his girlfriend Georgie who also happens to be Rivers older sister. Sometimes she comes here but most of the time he goes there. 

My phone buzzes and I see it's Austin probably calling for his late night phone call. Instead of declining it I turn my phone off completely. 

I had already told him I was going out for dinner and that I would call him when I was done. 

"We should get the chocolate overload cake." Kai says showing Spencer and River the picture of the cake on the menu. 

Spencer nods and they order the cake. 

After dessert we all head back home. 

"It was good to meet you." Delilah says hugging me before heading off with Cole. 

I wave by to River and he just nods his head. 

I go with Desiree and Ashlynn to her car. 

Ashlynn drops us off and Desiree and I head back inside. 

Once I get ready for bed I turn my phone back on and call Austin.
