After a few days of the lesson to say goodbye to Finn, Quinn needed time away from school and the choir room so no one knows where she is, Kurt and Jamey went back to school because they need to even if they didn't want to go. Everyone in the glee club was doing fine but they still hurt but they know Finn is watching them. Jesse and Blaine were by the piano, Blaine has his hands on Jesse's fingers showing her how to play the piano. "You getting it." Blaine said to her while Artie wheels over to them. "Yeah, now you need to learn a lot more keys." Artie said to Jesse who looks at him. "I don't want to do this anymore." Jesse said to Blaine who laughs a little while Sebastian and Sam were by the drums. Sebastian was behind Sam holding his hands playing it with Tina watching them. "I can play if you let me." Sam said to Sebastian. "No, I like this." Sebastian said to him with a smile while Sam turns to him. "Fine." Sam said turning back to the drums. Sebastian feels eyes on them making him turn to see Tina looking at them. "Sam, look at me." Sebastian said to him making Sam look at him. "What's wrong?" Sam asks him as Sebastian gives Sam a kiss. "Trust me when I say this, I will make you happy." Sebastian said to him making Sam smile at him. "You already are making me happy." Sam said to him and he leads into Sebastian's chest making Sebastian smile. Sebastian looks up to see his sister smiling at him, Sebastian winks at her while putting his arms around Sam.

Will walks into the room ready to announce the competition that New Directions will face at Nationals. "All right, big week, guys." Will said making everyone look at him. "Come on. Gather round. I have here in my hand...Drumroll, please..." Will said and the teens hit themselves making a drumroll while Sebastian and Sam walked over to them. "A secret list of the show choirs that we will be in competition with at Nationals in six weeks." Will said to them while Blaine puts his arms around Jesse. "Okay, let's see what we've got. We got the Rust-Belters from Pittsburgh, the Thunder Showcats from Gainesville." Will said reading the list and he clears his throat while Sebastian put his arms around Sam. "And finally, from Fort Wayne, Throat Explosion." Will said to them. "No!" Tina yelled making Jesse laugh but Blaine puts his hand on her mouth. "Why, God?!" Tina yelled while Jesse was trying to remove Blaine's hand. "Uh, what? Throat Explosion? That's a joke, right?" Jake asks Will while Blaine removes his hand from Jesse. "Anything but. They're the new supergroup the Show Choir Underground's been buzzing about. Their budgets for costume, makeup, hair alone are astronomical. You guys have read that Malcolm Gladwell book. Outliers, right?" Blaine asks them and everyone was silent while Sam leads into Sebastian's chest. "So, Gladwell says you can't possibly master anything unless you've spent 10,000 hours practicing it. So students can't even join Throat Explosion without proving they've logged in 10,000 hours of show choir rehearsal. They don't even go to class. They just perform, every minute of every day. They live their art. They know no boundaries. They're constantly pushing the envelope, living and performing on the edge. They're like mini Lady Gagas." Blaine said to them. "We're so screwed...they're not like Vocal Adrenaline, who were unfeeling Borg robots. They're total outsiders and misfits, which used to be our niche. We can't compete with Throat Explosion anymore at that level because we lost our biggest Gaga when Kurt graduated last year. Look around, we're a room full of, like, Katy Perrys now." Tina said to them making Unique look at her. "Oh, you best check your spectrum, Queen T, because orange is the new black, and Unique is the new Gaga." Unique said to her. "Well, not Marley...she's a Katy Perry. So is Sam, so is Blaine." Tina said to them. "I'm a Katy Perry and I'm proud of it." Blaine said to them while putting his head on Jesse's shoulder. "Uh, the truth is, Tina, we're a potent mix of Katy Perrys and Lady Gagas in here. But it's not a liability...it's the way we're gonna beat Throat Explosion. Some of us in here are, you know, ambi-edge." Will said to them. "Ambi-edge? You just made that up." Artie said to Will. "Uh, some of us are more, you know, wholesome, innocent, romantic, all-American girl-and boy-next-door types. Uh, who in here would describe themselves as a Gaga?" Will asks them and Tina, Kitty, and Unique raise their hands. "Okay, great. And the rest of you are Katys?" Will asks the others. "Is there a third option?" Jesse asks him. "We're gonna mix it up a little bit." Will said walking to the whiteboard. "We're turning our weaknesses into our strengths." Will said and he writes on the board, 'Katy vs Gaga' and he looks at everyone. "This week, the Katys will get their Gaga on and the Gagas will bring the Katy. Throat Explosion does their one thing very, very well, but we need to be able to do both, impeccably, or else we're not gonna have a chance in hell of winning Nationals this year." Will said to them.
