{Isaac's Pov}

I'm on my way to Sage's grandpa's favorite fishing hole.
I'm really nervous.
What if he doesn't like me?
I might not get to marry Sage.
Wait, what am I saying?
I'm not really marrying her.
I still don't think he likes me though.
The ride there is silent.
"Son, today I'm going to see if you're fit to marry my granddaughter," he says.
"I'll try my best, sir," I say.
He frowns and hands me a fishing pole.
I cast my line after I bait it.
Now I just have to wait.
That's what scares me.
"When do you think you'll be getting married?" He asks.
Thank goodness, Sage said not for a few years.
"Probably in a couple of years," I say.
"Would you like kids?" He asks and I cringe.
I don't know! Nobody thinks about that when they're not even married yet!
"Maybe a few years after we're married," I say hoping that's a good answer.
He nods and I feel a tug on my line.
"I think I got one!" I say.
"Reel her in!" He says and gets a net.
Once I get it close to the boat, it starts fighting.
It's really strong...
I eventually reel her in and find that its an old tire.
"Nice try, son," he says and pats my back.
We haven't caught anything when he says, "It's been an hour. Any longer and Sage will come out here herself."
He chuckles and I fake laugh.
As he's driving us back, he keeps questioning me.
"Do you have a job?" He asks.
"Yes. I'm a doctor," I say hoping that's a good idea. I've always wanted to fake being a doctor.
"Okay. Do your parents approve of the wedding?" He questions.
"My parents died in a car wreck and my brother, John, lives with my uncle," I lie.
"I'm sorry, son. My parents died in a plane crash when I was younger," he says.
"I'm sorry, sir," I say and he nods.
"Do you want a big wedding?" He asks.
"I'm fine with whatever she wants as long as our families are there," I say and he smiles.
"Son, the reason I'm hard on you is because I want the best for Sage. Her parents skipped town and got married. They never came to visit. I want to be a part of her life," he says sadly.
I nod and say, "Sir, I'm really sorry. I want her family to be a part of our lives."
"It's nice to hear you say that, son. I'll tell Sage I approve of you," he smiles and so do I.
"Thank you, sir," I say happy.
"Call me grandpa," he says chuckling.
"Yes, si-grandpa," I say.
Soon, we're back, and I go to our room to wait for Sage.
It's a little after midnight when she comes in with a couple bags, a crown, and sash that says bride to be.
"Have fun?" I ask trying hard to hide my smile.
"It wasn't as bad as I thought, but I'm so tired," she says setting the bags down, "How was fishing? Did he hurt you?"
She practically tackles me looking for any bruises or cuts.
"I'm fine. He asked me a lot of questions. He said he approved of me though, so that's good I guess," I say awkwardly.
Then, grandpa yells up the stairs, "Sage, honey, will you come down for a minute?"
"I'll be right there!" She yells back.
I get ready, and she comes back smiling.
"He does approve," she says then frowns.
"What's wrong?" I ask seeing her face.
"I don't like lying to them. Then, we have the party tomorrow. More people to impress. What happens when they find out we don't actually get married?"
I pick her up and carry her to the bed.
"Hey, it'll be okay. We'll figure something out," I say trying to comfort her.
She stays silent for awhile.
"I better get ready," she says finally and goes into the bathroom.
When she comes out, I'm about to lie on the floor.
"Hey, you don't have to sleep on the floor. Why don't you sleep on top of the covers on the bed? I mean then it's not weird right?" She says.
"Really?" I ask shocked.
She nods.
She closes the curtain and is soon asleep. Hopefully, she won't have any nightmares.
I put my arm around her and drift off to sleep.

[Brandon's Pov]

I feel bad for Isaac.
He has to go on a fishing trip alone with Sage's grandpa.
Garrick and I go explore the "island" that the house is on.
It's more of a mansion and the "island" means it's just easier to get to places by boat.
We go into the woods at the edge of the property.
The girls are at the shower, so we can't explore with them.
Soon, we're walking in circles.
It's midnight, so the girls should be home.
I try to text them, but I don't get reception here.
"We're lost," Garrick says.
"Looks that way," I say, "What do we do?"
"Umm...shout for help?" He suggests.
I shrug and do just that.
Eventually, I hear someone coming.
It's Morgan and Clara.
"You guys got lost?" Morgan says smirking.
"No," I say as Garrick says, "Yes."
I glare at him.
"What? I'm not lying to my girlfriend," he says and hugs Morgan.
"He's right. It's not nice to lie to your girl," Clara says and crosses her arms.
I'm in trouble.
They lead us back to the house.
We all sit in Morgan's room.
"How was the party?" Garrick asks.
"It wasn't as bad as Sage said it would be. All we did was eat, watch her open presents, and dance," Morgan says and Clara bursts out laughing.
We stare at her funny until Morgan starts laughing too.
"What's so funny?" I ask.
"One of the things she got!" Clara says in between laughs.
"Which was?" I ask.
"We probably shouldn't tell you," Morgan says calming down.
I pout.
"Sage already said she would kill us if we told you guys. I don't even think Isaac knows. Well I hope he doesn't or we are all in trouble," Clara says and yawns.
"Okay, fine. It's time for bed anyways,"
Garrick says and kisses Morgan on the cheek.
I walk out and try to kiss Clara.
"Oh no, you don't. You lied to me. No honesty, no kiss," she says.
"I'm sorry, okay. I didn't want to look like a wimp," I apologize.
She kisses my cheek and walks into her room.
I go into my room and lie on the bed.
Tomorrow is the engagement party...
Poor Isaac and Sage.
Sage must hate lying to her grandparents and Isaac has to impress them.
I know he's really trying because he actually likes Sage.
Good luck buddy.
