The next morning I got up early. My hospital room was empty, obviously my mum and dad had to think about their jobs too. I really needed the toilet. I removed my covers and shifted to sit to the edge of the bed "I can do this!" I said to myself, I mean it was only a short walk down the hall. I took a deep breath and gently put my feet on the ground, I wobbled a little as I stood. I then took one step forward and my legs just gave up on me. I was now laid on the floor "Can someone help me please!?" I shouted, a nurse ran in and saw me on the floor and picked me up and placed me on my bed "Honey you shouldn't get out of bed without anyone to help" "I really need the toilet though" "Hold on" she said leaving the room. She returned a few seconds later with a wheelchair, she helped me in it and pushed me to the restroom. She had to help me on to the toilet which made me feel so embarrassed! After I was finished she pushed me to the sink and I washed my hands. We then went back to my room and she put me on my bed "If you need anything else just press the button beside your bed, I'll bring you some porridge for breakfast" she smiled and then left. She brought back my breakfast a few minutes later, I hated porridge but I guess I'm gonna have to eat it.
My bag I had the day of the crash was on my bedside table, I took a look inside and everything was fine. Even my phone, thank God! I went on my phone and played on some apps to pass the time. Hours passed and I eagerly waited for Rhett and Link to visit.
They finally arrived with my dad, they ran over and sat beside me "Dad where's mum?" "She's had some time off work so she's having to do overtime" "Ohh ok" he sat down and smiled. "So how was school guys? I asked "Boring without you!" Rhett replied "Yeah, everyone has been asking about you, they're happy to know you're awake" Link replied, I smiled "What about you? How was your day?" Link asked "Well I tried to walk but I collapsed, my legs just aren't ready" I looked down at my hands sad, Link grabbed my hand and gave it a squeeze "How about I help you?" he smiled "Ok! As soon as I can walk again I think I can go home!". I shuffled to the edge of my bed and Link stood in front of me, he put my hands on his shoulders "Ok you can put your full weight on me, I'll make sure you don't fall" I put my feet on the ground and I wobbled "Good, now I'm gonna slowly walk backwards you just try and take tiny steps forward ok?" "Ok" I smiled. He stepped backwards and I took a small step forwards, my legs were shaking. We continued this until my legs fell from under me, Link caught me before my knees hit the ground "Wow I got you" he said as he put me in the wheelchair.
My dad and Rhett sat on my bed beside me "I just want my stupid legs to work so I can go home!" my dad put his hand on my shoulder "Maybe if Link helps you everyday you might be able to walk again sooner than you think" "Yeah! I'm gonna help her!" Link said in excitement "I'm just sick of sitting this same room not being able to wonder around!" Rhett and Link began smirking "What?" I asked "We could push you around in the wheelchair" Rhett suggested "Yeah that sounds fun!" I replied "Have fun then!" my dad said before they wheeled me out of the room.
They pushed me slowly around the hospital corridors "Guys lets go back to my room, this is boring" "Ohh really?" Link asked raising an eyebrow, just as I was about to answer he started running. We all laughed as we picked up more and more speed as we flew around corners. We had to make a quick stop because a doctor wasn't very happy with us, he gave us a stern telling off but we couldn't help but laugh at him yelling. We went back to my room laughing. Link helped me back in to bed "Well that was fun!" I said with a huge smile on my face. They all stayed and talked to me until it got quite late, Link gave me a kiss and Rhett gave me a hug "Bye (Your Name), see you tomorrow!" they both said as they left. My dad gave me a kiss on my forehead "Goodnight beautiful" "Night dad".
