Fickle Brain

How fickle is the human mind
Roaming in the complexities
Questioning all the 'what if's
Chasing after alternate realities
Unable to accept their own fate
However good or bad
Never satisfied,
Always running away
To find something better
Something happier
As if it knows where happiness lies
How fickle is the human brain
Chasing after illusions
While playing it safe
It's either take a risk
Or not see dreams
But we do both, don't we?
And then we regret
Having what we have
Yearning for more
When a while ago this 'more'
Wasn't even a question
But this 'now' was
And this 'now' was the only thing
The brain wanted to have
The heart wanted to grab
But in a split second it changes
The fickle brain has secured the 'now'
And starts chasing after a 'what if'
Never satisfied, always running
Silly brain, fickle and running
Off to good, better and best
As if it know the best
How fickle is the human mind

A/N Writing here after a long time... Let's just say I wasn't upset enough to spin these poetry(sounds weird), but somehow here I am, back again 🙁
