The Nightly Sea

The endless vastness of dark sea,
Like the sky bleeding ink into it,
Stretch out in swirling waves,
Breaking over the jagged rocks,
At a distant, towering like a crown.
Making froth like luminescent pearls.
Bubbling, gurgling, receding back,
Mixing into the unending black.
The tides swelling and receding,
As if the monstrous sea engulfs them.
Lights dot the distant horizon,
Rows of fishing boats braving the sea,
Enduring undulations of the rough night,
As the water tosses it like cork.
The wind blows steadily whistling,
Sometimes like the sirens' call.
But often it rumbles like the thunder,
The beast in it threatening to lash.
And the wet sand falls and tumbles,
Crumbles away sand castles and
The footprints get washed away.
As the unfathomable sea swallows,
The last remaining trace of the humanity,
At the brink of the glowing beach.
