Naina tried to catch sleep, but sleep was far from her eyes. As she closed her eyes, Sameer's pleading face appeared in front of her. And she was angry with herself as to why she dragged the matter so much. She felt bad for him because he had planned dinner for her so much love and had arranged everything only to make her happy and what she did. She ruined his precious effort and had neglected his true love.
She sat back on the bed and tears flowed down from her eyes. She said to herself "Aaj maine hamara first dinner spoil kar diya wo bhi mere ek galti se...Sameer ne jab kaha ki unka dam ghut raha hai mai bahut dar gayi thi samajha nahi aaya kya karu... aur turant taiji ki manhoos wali baat yaad aayi. Sameer mere karan hi to itni bhag doud kar rahe hai aaj yahan hai to kal Delhi me. Iss tarah apne health ko wo sirf mere vajah se ignore kar rahe hai ye baat mujhse bardasht nahi hui ki mai unke beemar hone ki vajah banu. Par jab mujhe pata chala ki ye sirf unka mazak tha mujhe sach me Sameer par bahut gussa aaya mann kiya ki aise apne health ko leke aise mazak karne ke liye unse jhagda karu un par chillau lekin tabhi laga kahi taiji sahi to nahi hai...shayad mai manhoos hi hun tabhi to mujhse milte hi aur sagai hote hi Sameer par itna pressure aa gaya hai... ye baat mujhe andar hi andar pareshan kar rahi hai, mai Sameer ki khushi na ban kar kahi unke liye musibat na ban jau.
Aaj jab Sameer ne car me apna gussa dikhaya to mai kuch bol nahi paayi mai ye manhoos wali baat kah kar unka dil nahi dukhana chahati thi, shayad mujh par aur gussa karte. Mai samajh nahi pa rahi hun mai kya karu... maine Sameer ko bahut pareshan kiya aur unka itna special moment barbaad kar diya. Unki khushi ko nirasha me badal diya. Unke chehare hasi ki jagah udasi le aayi. Mai bahut buri hun Sameer."
And she cried hiding her face in the pillow to ruin Sameer special effort, to spoil his mood and to hurt a pure hearted man who loved her unconditionally.
She always listened to her taiji's taunt that she was unlucky for the family. Her mother died as soon as she was born. After that, if any bad incident happened in her house or any with any person, she was always held responsible for that. She was habituated it. But as she heard taiji a week ago, was a fresh in her mind that had more bothered her. And today she had caught hold of her taiji words and felt she was responsible for Sameer stressful life.
A week earlier in the evening when she had returned home from her school, she had overheard taiji's conversation with her neighbor when she had congratulated taiji for a good alliance of Naina. Taijj replied to her in her venomous mouth "kahe ki badhai Sushila bahen, mai to bhagwan ji se bas yahi prarthna kar rahi hun ki, Naina ki manhoosiyat uski shadishuda zindagi ko barbaad na kar de... Aapko to pata hi hai Naina ke paida hote hi uski maa guzar gayi thi ab to dar laga rahta hai ki uske mangetar Sameer par koi musibat na jaye aur uske bussiness me koi nuksaan na ho jaye...Naina ki badkismati ka kuch to aasar Sameer par bhi padega."
Naina had scared to mention Sameer name by her taiji but that time she had shrugged of her fear. Today when she was at restaurant and heard his coughing and know about his suffocation, a fear engulfed her heart and taiji words had taken possession of her mind.
On the other hand Sameer was perplexed by her odd behavior just only for a joke. He was lying in bed but sleep was far away from his eyes. He stared the roof and think out the reason of her bad mood.
He said to himself "mana ki maine galti ki hai aise apni health ko lekar mazak kiya. Par iske liye mafi bhi mangi... itni sorry kaha aur effort kiya use manane ke liye lekin Naina bilkul nahi pighali aakhir aisi bhi kya narazagi Naina ki tumne hamara first dinner date spoil kar diya. Use hua kya achanak se, kabhi to aise behave nahi karti aur mere itne sorry sunkar to Naina zarur pighal jati aur uska gussa shant ho jata. Ice cream dekhakar uska gussa to kam ho gaya tha par kuch to tha jo uske mann me chal raha tha jo uske chehare par pain ke rup me dikhai de raha tha. Maine car me uss se reason puchana chaha lekin usne baat ko tal diya. Naina sirf ek mazak ko lekar aise to gussa nahi karegi kuch to bada karan hai jo wo bata nahi rahi ya phir mai uske dard ko samajh nahi paa raha hun. Iss se pahle baat bigad jaye mujhe vajah janna hi hoga... Mujhe Naina se abhi baat karni hogi."
