Angela's POV

"What do you mean by a good idea Elsa?" asked Mr. Lin. "We need to have this marriage set within two months! So you better'd have them hurry up!"

Then he turned to my parents, with rage in his eyes. "Mr. and Mrs. Liu, please stop being indecisive. Once you decided that your daughter will be marrying my son, then please have them together within this month. Or else, we will have to send him away on marrying someone else. I can't put my possession on hold for a long period of time!"

I looked at Darius, whose rage is even greater in his eyes. Although I hated him as my ex right now who was trying every way possible to interfere with my life, but I couldn't help but to feel bad for him. His father is literally objectifying him as if he's his possession or something. Also, I couldn't bear to see my parents being placed under pressure and threats.

My dad looked at Mr. Lin sheepishly, trying to mediate the situation. "Of course, Terry! I'm pretty sure Angela will make up her mind after some convincing. I'll keep you updated!"

"You'd better be, Marshal." said Mr. Lin. That's when I realised something. His father is as shallow and self-centred as Darius himself! I bet this is where Darius' arrogance came from. Basically, like father like son.

"Dear, quit being mad." said Mrs. Lin. "It's quite stressful putting them in together at once! Why don't we leave for now and discuss things through, then talk about it again like a week later?"

"A week! A week! A week! HAHAHAHAHA. I'll see how long does Marshal needs to have his decision on hold. He has been holding on this decision for an entire year! I'll see how much more time he needs to put it on hold." said Mr. Lin, obviously irritated.

I looked at Dad. So he already had this plan laid ahead for me? And he never told me?

"We'll talk through this at home," said Mom. "Angela, Marshal, let's go."

We left the restaurant as quickly as possible. In the dark, I saw Dad's face turn purple, due to embarrassment and anger. I don't know where does he direct his anger to, but then I'm pretty sure he would direct his temper to me anytime soon. His aura is very horrible and scary.

Mom was unpleased as well. Her face is the same shade as Dad's, and I bet they must be overwhelmed by the aggression from Darius' parents.

As we got onto the car, my dad started the engine by aggressively pressing on the buttons, and drove in absolutely silence. Dad was never this silent. Because, if he was, it means he was really, really angry. Although we are all silent in the cab, I couldn't help but to feel an increasing tension and impending doom. So I decided to stay silent.

After we got home, Dad was glaring at me with anger in his eyes. He slowly approached me and gave me a huge slap on my face.

"You stupid brat. You should have said yes! Why don't you agree to the marriage?" snapped Dad.

"Dad! Then why do I have to accept the marriage?" I asked. "I don't even love him! How do you expect I could love him that fast?" I had to lie. As one, if he knew that Darius and I used to be in a romantic relationship, then he would have twice the reason asking me to marry him. Two, if he knew that I had dated before, and dating someone right now, I would be dead meat because they didn't allow me to date.

"Angela! Could you please accept this marriage? It would help us a lot in enhancing our business." said Mom. "We could make more money and ensure us a better life in the future! And we could give you more of what you want and give you the best in everything possible! Think of it, how did you achieve all these beautiful gowns and dresses? How did you get this house? How did you get into this prestigious school? Why are you excelling so much in your violin and piano? Because we got you the best tutors for them and you excelled in them thanks to these tutors! What do they all need? They need money! And now we're running out of them because we've invested a lot onto various things. On you, mostly! We spent money on your education, we spent money on supporting your brother who is currently studying in UK, and we don't have enough money left because our business is going on a near bankrupt state! Can you stop being selfish for awhile and actually listen to us?"
