Malcolm's POV
I was eating my breakfast as I was looking at the list of the things I have to do today until...
"Malcolm-ah! W-We're in trouble!" Hyunjin said as he went to me and I clicked my tongue.
"What? What kind of trouble are we in?" I asked, looking at him unamused.
"The gold digger lady is outside! She's right outside the dorm" He panicked.
"What?" I asked in disbelief before taking a deep breath.
"I didn't see her yesterday, I thought she left. What do I do?" He asks which makes me groan.
"Now, I'm going to be caught for sure!" He said.
"I'm so pissed off" I gritted as I clutched my head.
"It's just one thing after the other" I groaned.
"I'm really sorry. You know, I can just go back to commuting five hours from Incheon. But I'm just so worried about you" He said.
"Seriously, why did I ever associate myself with you, huh?" I asked.
After that, we made our way down and he hid behind a wall as we peeked to see the lady he was talking to a guard. I got to admit, she didn't look like how I thought she would look like. She didn't look a day over 25.
I looked at Hyunjin and I nodded my head to signal him that I'll confront her which he of course, agreed to.
"Excuse me, miss. I think I know the student you're looking for" I smiled, awkwardly, which gave her attention to me.
"Oh? You do?" She asked.
"Yes. he doesn't live here, though" I explained and looked at the guard.
"Come with me, I'll tell you where he lives" I smiled and we both bowed to the guard.
We went out and I made sure to quickly leave the premises as fast as possible.
"Wait. Where are we going?" She asked.
"Let's..uh...talk off campus. Come with me" I replied as she followed me.
Unbeknownst to me, a girl saw me walking off with the lady.
"What is he doing? Who is that lady? Another creditor?" She mumbled as she released a worried sigh before following.
We ended up in cafe not too far from the campus. I sat across her and decided to end the silence.
"You understand that there's no use even if you find Hyunjin. It isn't up to him. He can't change how his dad feels about you" I said as I looked down at the coffee I ordered.
I looked up to find her crying and I handed her some tissues.
"Please, don't cry" I asked as she took the tissues to wipe away her tears.
I felt awkward and embarrassed as the lady was crying infront of me and it got the attention of other people in the cafe.
"I...just don't understand. This is breaking my heart" She sniffled while I glanced at the people looking at us.
"We just got back from a trip. I haven't even unpacked my suitcase. We were so happy" She cried.
"Why does he want to break up with me? How could his feelings change so quickly? I didn't even buy alot of things in our trip" She said, in between sniffles.
Minju's POV
I went inside the cafe quietly and it was good thing Malcolm wasn't facing the entrance. I sat at the table not so far from them.
"I'm not gonna let it go" The girl infront of him cried.
"Doing that won't change anything" Malcolm said and my head shot up as I was surprised.
"If you really believe it's love, you should let it go, and say I hope you'll find happiness" He said.
I-Is this his girlfriend?
"I can be better" The girl sniffled.
"If I did something wrong, I'll fix it" She begged.
"So please, tell me!" The girl said and I noticed Malcolm, feeling uncomfortable.
"Still, it's no use crying" He replied.
"Feelings have changed. It's over and done" He said.
"We started it together. So we have to end it together and I can't end it!" The girl cried out which made the people around the two whipser among themselves.
"If you keep this up...All the memories you had will disappear and you'll have nothing! Is that what you want?!" He replied.
"No! No, that's not what I want" The girl shook her head.
"Exactly. So cherish the beautiful memories you have, and find someone better. Don't go back to school again" He said.
"If I see you again, I'll call the police. Understand?" He said as he stood up from his seat but the girl quickly stood up from hers as well and held Malcolm's arm which made him flinch.
"No! What am I supposed to do now?!" She cried.
"Please, stop!" Malcolm said as he tried to shake her off.
Malcolm's POV
"Listen to me" The girl insisted.
"Please let go of me!" I groaned as I tried removing her hands.
Suddenly, someone grabbed my wrist and pulled me away from this girl.
"Get your hands off him. He said no!" Minju shouted at the girl as she went infront of me.
"Forcing yourself onto someone like that, it's called assault, even if you're a girl!" The smaller girl finished.
"Come on, let's go" She said as she turned to me and led both of us outside, with her still holding my wrist, firmly.
"Don't go!" The girl cried out.
"Yah! Let go! Let go of me!" I said as we got out of the cafe before I removed her hand.
"Yah! What's your problem?" I asked as I fixed the sleeve of my sweater.
"I tried to ignore it because you said to leave it alone, but this is too dangerous" She scolded out of concern.
"What? What's dangerous?" I asked, giving her a look of confusion.
"That kind of obsesssion is violence. It's not love, you know?" She said.
"Obsession? What? Violence? What are you talking about?" I asked, dumbfounded.
"Hey! How did it go? Where is she?" Hyunjin asked as he went towards us.
"I was firm and made it clear to her, so she shouldn't bother you again" I replied.
"Oh...thank God" He sighed in relief.
"She won't come for Hyunjin-ssi? Then it's not you, it's him?" Minju asked as her eyes went towards Hyunjin with bewilderment.
"What? What's me?" Hyunjin asked as he looked at Minju, who had a confused face, looking back at him.
"Yah! What do you think is happening?" Hyunjin asked.
"That lady isn't my ex-girlfriend. She's my dad's ex" He explained.
"Your dad's ex-girlfriend?" Minju repeated.
"Why? What did you think she was?" I asked.
"Well, I-uh...thought she was your ex-girlfriend" She replied.
"What!? That crazy lady? How could you think that?!" I asked, wide eyed, before chasing her.
"Yah! Sorry. That's how it looked like" She replied as she ran away.
"Get over here!" I said as we ran in circles.
"Sorry! Sorry!" She yelled.
"What's wrong with them?" Hyunjin asked as he looked at both of us.
