Malcolm's POV
"I had no idea. So that's why he's here alone?" I asked as I looked at Minju in disbelief.
"What do we do now? He'll find out for sure" She said.
"Find out what?" Hyunjin asked out of nowhere but we didn't realize.
"What else? That we're secretly dating, you know" Minju replied as she looks at me.
Our eyes widened as we realized Hyunjin was the one that asked. He suddenly put his arms around both of us as he chuckled.
"That's right! I found out!" He squealed as we shrieked in shock.
We left the restrooms and then went to sat on a bench.
"Congratulations, you two. You guys make a good couple" Hyunjin smiled as we only looked down on the ground.
"Sorry about you and Yena. You must be upset" I said, still looking at the floor.
"Why are you sorry? I'm the one that should be sorry" He said amd we looked at him.
"It's your first date, and I'm totally killing the mood. I should just leave" He finished.
"No, it's okay. You don't-" I paused as he just chuckled.
"Okay, you go and have fun. Don't mind me" He smiled as he got off the chair and stood up.
"Okay. See you at the dorm" Minju smiled at him and Hyunjin waved goodbye.
"Hyunjin" I called before he can leave.
"Hmm?" He asked as he looked at me.
"Since you're here anyway, hang out with us" I said.
"We'll feel terrible, if you leave. Why won't you stay?" I suggested and he was hesitant.
"Are you sure?" He asked.
-Time Skip-
"So, you and Yena used to come here often?" I asked as we looked at the food that just arrived to our table.
"Yeah. When we first started dating, we came here all the time" He replied.
"We'd hang out in the amusement park and eat dinner here. Yena really liked stir-fried pork" He explained.
"This must be sad for you. Sorry, Hyunjin" I said.
"I wanted to finish off what we started. Sort of like a funeral for love" He explained and we just stayed silent.
"Yah! I'm okay, really, so don't be like that" He laughed and we looked at him.
"You're not actually at a funeral" He chuckled.
"That looks good" Minju smiled before leaning over to get the food she liked.
"Malcolm-ah. Say ah!" She smiled as she held out grilled pork belly that was wrapped in lettuce.
"Yah. Are you that clueless? This is not the time" I whispered.
"Why? He says it's okay. Come on" She smiled as she looked at Hyunjin then back at me.
"Aw, you guys are so sweet" Hyunjin teased.
"Okay" I said in low voice and took the food from her hand.
"Hyunjin, when did you figure out there was something between us?" Minju smiled at him.
"I could tell during that group blind date. The way you tagged along, and how Malcolm acted" Hyunjin explained and Minju couldn't hide her smile as we listened.
"There are three things you can't hide, no matter how hard you try. Poverty, a cold, and love" He smiled before looking down at his food.
"Ah, one more, Hunger" He chuckled before eating his food which made us chuckle at him as well before we continued eating.
-Time Skip-
"I ate too much. I'm stuffed. I'm gonna get some fresh air" Minju smiled at us before walking outside.
"She has a cute side to her" Hyunjin said as we watched her leave.
"Minju seems really kind and thoughtful. Look at her leaving us alone, so we can talk. She's so nice" He said as he ate and I just kept quiet.
"Anyway, is something wrong? Did you two fight? Or is it still awkward being alone with her?" He asked and I looked at him, surprised.
How did he...?
"You can tell?" I asked and he nodded.
"I can tell you're pretending to worry about me to avoid being with her. It's obvious that you're trying to keep her at a distance" He explained and I was just speechless.
"Well..." I cleared my throat.
"I can tell you're pretending to be fine too. It's hard, right?" I asked him.
"Breaking up with Yena?" He asked and I nodded.
"Trust me, it's not that hard at all" He inhaled sharply.
"When I threw the seaweed soup at the guy. She thought I hurted him. She freaked out and just glared at me. The way she looked...I knew in that moment our...relationship was over" He explained and I couldn't help but feel really bad for him as I listened.
"I wasn't angry or anything. It was just like I jumped into a pool of ice water. It totally woke me up and everything finally became clear" He said as he took a another bite of his food.
"Is that it? Your love is just over?" I asked which got his attention and looked at me.
"The person you loved lied to you. How can you forgive her?" I asked.
"She didn't lie to me. Our love just ended. And just because our love ended, it doesn't mean that it was all a lie" He replied.
"When we were in love, our love was sincere. That's enough" He added.
"It doesn't make sense" I muttered.
"When I wanted to move to an apartment closer to her, I thought my mom would be completely against it. But she said it was a once-in-a-lifetime romance, and to love freely" He explained.
"She was really cool about it. As my mom said, the love I had with her will remain in my heart forever. That's good enough" He said which got me thinking.
He's...right
We left the place and walked outside. We stood infront of the entrance and looked at Hyunjin.
"You guys go ahead. I need to talk to Yena about something" He said and we looked at him confused.
"Yena? I'll go with you" I said.
"What? I can go by myself" He replied.
"I feel nervous about it" I lied before turning towards Minju.
"Minju, I'm sorry, but...I think I should be there for Hyunjin tonight. You can head back" I said.
"All right then. Be careful and call me when you get home, okay?" She gave a small smile and I nodded.
Sorry, Minju...
