Two weeks later...
Minju's POV
"You guys ready for prom tomorrow?" Changbin asked as we looked at him.
"Yeah, do you have something to wear already?" Seungmin asked and Changbin shook his head.
"Oh! Minju! Do you have something to wear already?" Chaeyeon asked in excitement as I turned to her and shook my head.
"I...wasn't really planning on joining prom now. Especially with Malcolm not being there, you know?" I sighed and I saw her frown for a second before it turned into a smile again.
"Come on. This is once in a lifetime thing" She persuaded.
"You don't know...maybe he will attend" She whispered and emphasized the "he" part.
It got me thinking and doubting which made her grin as she saw that what she said worked. I sighed in defeat before turning back at her.
"Fine...I'll join" I said which made her rejoice.
"We're going shopping later!" She happily said and I couldn't help but look at her unamused.
"Are you guys in charge of the drinks?" Minho asked which made Han and Changbin smirk.
"Pft! Aren't we always?" They laughed.
"Chan-hyung said he'll come later too" Felix announced which made the guys happier.
"Do you guys have a date already?" Chaewon asked as she walked towards us before joining us on the couch.
"Yeah" Changbin proudly said which made the guys look at him in disbelief.
"I thought we planned on not going to bring one!" Seungmin said as they all glare at Changbin.
"Guys, I can explain-"
"You're bringing one when you were the one who planned on not bringing one?" Minho asked.
"You guys planned on not bringing one?" Han added.
"Wait, we were supposed to bring one?" Jeongin asked in confusion.
"Not really but it would be nice to have a date" Hyunjin replied.
"Speaking of, Hyunjinnie, do you have date already?" Chaewon asked.
"Ah-uh...no, not yet" He stammered shyly.
"Do you want to be my date for the dance?" She asked with a smile.
"Uh, sure, Chaewon" He smiled back after snapping back.
"I'll go for my class. See you guys later!" She said before leaving us.
We all looked at Hyunjin as he had a smile on his face.
"So...since when were you and Chaewon a thing?" Changbin smirked.
"What? No! I was surprised she asked me out" He denied.
"Sure...you two have been getting more and more closer these past few weeks" Han teased which made us chuckle.
"We have not! I swear, we're just friends" He said.
The teasing continued until we all had to go to our separate classes. After our classes finished, Chaeyeon, Chaewon, and I went shopping as promised.
I couldn't help but think about Malcolm when picking out the dresses I found.
Would he like this?
Does this make me look prettier?
With those thoughts, doubts came along as I sighed when my worries started to make me overthink.
Will he even come?
What if he doesn't come after all?
Would he still love me the same when he sees me?
Does he even still love me?
In the end, I pushed through those thoughts as the two I was with were really good in persuading me. I was really thankful to have friends like them.
-PROM DAY-
"Come on, guys! We're going to be late!" Chaeyeon panicked as she paced around the room in her dress already.
"Can you help me zip this up?" I asked before turning my back to her which she immediately helped me with.
"Thank you" I smiled as I turned back.
"Where's Chaewon?" She asked me and I was about to shrug but the bathroom door opened which revealed Chaewon already prepped up and ready to go.
"I'm here" Chaewon quickly replied as she exits the bathroom.
"Let's go!" Chaeyeon said while dragging both of us out of the dorm.
-Time Skip-
We headed towards the ball room and saw that alot of our batchmates were here.
"It's them!" We heard as we looked towards the direction to find the guys coming to us.
"Chaewon" Hyunjin smiled at her as he held out his arm for her to grab.
"Hyunjin" She smiled back as she locked her with his which made us cringe at their sweetness.
"Baby!" Han called as he ran towards Chaeyeon and they hugged each other which made us look at them in disgust.
I sighed as I looked at the two pairs being sweet towards each other.
I wish we were like that too
"C'mon, guys. Let's go dance!" Changbin said in excitement as they hyped him up.
They were all about head there but I didn't join which Chaeyeon noticed.
"Oh? Minju? You're not going to join us dance?" She asked and I pursed my lips while shaking my head.
"It's okay. I'll be on one of the tables watching you guys" I flashed her a smile.
"Hey, I'm sure that he'll show up. Just you wait" She reassured and which made me smile at her and nod.
"Thanks" I smiled.
"Join us when you want to, okay?" She asked and I nodded before leaving.
I sat at one of the empty tables and took out my phone to kill the time.
Hyunjin's POV
I was doing ny best to dance with Chaewon until my eyes landed on someone familiar walking through the crowd.
Is that...
"Hyunjin? You okay?" Chaewon asked as she saw my confused face.
"Oh! It's nothing. I think I saw Malcolm among the crowd" I replied.
"Really?" She asked.
"You did?" Felix asked as him with the others guy went to me as they heard what I saw.
"I-I think so"
"You're probably just seeing things. Are you drunk already?" Changbin teased.
"Yah! I haven't touched a single drink yet" I retorted.
Minju's POV
Everyone danced around me with happiness plastered in their faces while I was here passing the time on my phone. I constantly checked my phone if Malcolm replied or even seened any of my messages.
I was about to check again until someone held out an open hand towards me. I looked up to see the face of this person and couldn't help but stare like I've seen a ghost.
