Malcolm's POV
"Malcolm" He smiled.
"Why are you here?" I groaned.
"Can't his father visit his son at school?" He asked and I just sighed.
"I wondered...how you were doing" He said.
"What? Did you see the news or something?" I scoffed.
"Of course. You're my one and only son. How could I not worry?" He replied.
"Whatever. Tell me what you want, and then leave" I said and looked at him.
"Are you in trouble again?" I groaned.
"What are you wearing? That ratty old sweater. You got that in high school" He said as he changed the subject.
"Forget it. Let's go. Come with me" He said as he took my wrist.
"Where? I don't wanna go" I said as I struggled to remove his hand.
"Where are you- No!" I said.
"Just shut up and come" He said.
"Dad! Stop it! Hey!"
"Look at your clothes" He retorted until Minju came and pulled me away.
"What are you doing? Who is he?" She asked as she looked at my father then back to me.
"Minju, this, uh..." I was speechless as I felt shy after seeing Minju like that.
"Why are you harrassing him? He didn't borrow any money" She said and my eyes widened and I held her arm to stop her.
"He's actually..." I said and my father gasped.
"You must be the girlfriend. I'm Malcolm's father. It's nice to meet you" He smiled at her and I sighed.
"Huh?" Minju looked shocked as her eyes widened.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know that" She apologized as she bowed.
"It's okay. Go. Since I need to talk to my father for a second, okay?" I smiled at her and she nodded.
"Okay. I'm sorry. Goodbye" She bowed again and my father bowed back.
"Go on. It's fine" I reassured her as she left.
"Oh! She looks just like your type" My father teased as we walked off.
"Walk faster, will you?" I complained.
-Time Skip-
"I'll take this" My father said as he handed the expensive-looking coat to the saleslady as I stood there.
"Why?" I asked, looking confused.
"I don't wear this kind of stuff" I said and he looked at me in annoyance.
"People are watching. Don't be rude" He said before walking off and I just groaned silently.
"He'll try these on too" He said as looked at the shoes on the racks.
"I don't need new shoes. Why are you doing this?" I grumbled.
"I don't know why he's so grumpy today" He awkwardly chuckled at the saleslady.
"Don't cause a scene" He mouthed at me and I just sighed in annoyance.
"He'll try these on too" He comtinued.
We left the store as he bought alot of what he picked. I was annoyed because I didn't need him wasting money on things I didn't need.
We went and took a taxi as we headed back to the campus.
"If you have money, pay back your debts, instead of having your creditors harrass me in school" I told him as we sat at the back of the cab.
"Just give me the money instead of buying me all this stuff. This is worth two months of work for me" I said and he glared at me.
"Why are you working?" Have you no pride? Birds of a feather flock together, don't you get it?" He scolded.
"You need to look rich to get treated well" He finished.
"What's that even mean? I should bet my life on a rich partner? And if her life falls apart fall with her? I know what that looks like from watching you" I shot back.
"Exactly. Do a better job than me. Find someone who won't fall apart" He said.
"How can you even say that to your son?" I asked in annoyance.
"You want me to wear expensive things and just find someone to marry? Is that what you want?" I asked as my blood boiled.
"Yeah, that's right. What's wrong with marrying for money? If she's rich enough and everything falls apart, it won't even matter" He retorted.
"And then why would she even want someone like me?"
"What? What's wrong with you? Absolutely nothing" He replied.
"That girl is an orphan. She's lucky she was adopted by a rich family. She's nothing. She doesn't compare to you" He said which took every fiber of my body not to punch him right now just by saying that.
"We raised you with so much care. You received so much love" He finished.
"I wish I was an orphan. Then I wouldn't have to deal with a father like you" I said as I looked outside the window then back at him.
"You two practically abandoned me. You should've just left me at the side of the road. I'd be better off. Instead, I'm the con artist's son whose dad is broke" I scoffed and he stayed silent.
"You really don't have to be so mean to your father. It's hard enough for me. How ungrateful" He said in a sad tone.
"I know why you're here. Don't try to deny it. I have nowhere to go wearing these stupid clothes" I said before unbuckling the seatbelt as we made it back to school.
"You can keep them or return them, I don't care" I said before getting out of the cab.
"Hey! Hey!" My father called out as he threw out the bags of clothes to me.
"What are you doing?" I asked in annoyance as I took the bags on the floor and putting them back in.
"Please leave" I told the taxi driver before closing the door.
"Hey!" My father called out once more as he threw them out the window.
"Yah!" I said as I picked the bags up but couldn't return them in because the taxi drove off quickly.
I panted before I sighed in annoyance as I watched the cab leave.
How annoying
