Hey Everyone!

Once again this was one of those difficult stories that I had no idea where it was going. At one time the Minotaur was going to be Xander's father. But I was having a hard time making that work. So pretty much up until the last minute is when I decided that the egg split upon fertilization, making both Xander and the present day Minotaur both the original Minotaur reincarnated.

I wanted the Minotaur and Xander to be different characters, but at the same time, I wanted them to be the same. So this was the best solution that I could come up with. To be honest I don't remember some of the plot points that had come to mind. But if you noticed, Xander was originally going to let Serena go to protect her from his brother.

However, once his soul had become one with the Minotaur's, he did whatever he had to do to possess her. Not that he was innocent in all of this. He had women sent to the labyrinth to satisfy the lustful needs of his brother, while he had men sent to their deaths to satisfy his brother's need to hunt. This was all done in exchange for wealth and power.

I also changed the ending a bit at the last minute. The original ending would have had Xander telling Serena that he would give her the opportunity to leave. He would then let her call her parents. She would start to say that she had something important to tell them about Xander, and that's when her mon would interrupt her, and start telling her about Gavin's miraculous recovery.

Then while on the phone, Xander would start whispering his non-aggressive threat against Gavin in her ear. When her mother would be done gushing about Xander, she would ask Serena what it was about Xander that she wanted to say. The original ending would have had a tearful Serena feigning happiness, and telling her mother that she and Xander were getting married. But I changed it because I figured that the readers would want a wedding to end the story.

I purposely included some parallels between Serena, and Ariana. Both were driven to protect their families, especially their younger brothers. Actually, if I wanted to, I could have done a whole retelling of the mythological story of the Minotaur. But I had started out in the present, and that would have taken the story in a completely different direction.

I could have delved into the relationships between Theseus and both of Minos's daughters. But I was afraid that the story would go off the rails. But I may save that for another time. It might be interesting to take a look at both complex relationships, as well as Dionysus's finding and falling in love with Ariadne. Maybe, but I am not making any guarantees.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the story. I have decided a couple of things. One the next story will be the first one in the 3rd Animalistic Desires book. Second, I think I want to switch things up a bit. I will not announce the next creature. That is going to be a surprise to be revealed in the next story. Hoping to hear from all of you soon!
