"Ooh, ouch."Yvette grimaced. "That must've hurt. I mean her calling out Siegfried's name."

"Yes, I'm sure it did." Replied Bartholomew, with a shy smile. "Would you like some more water?"

"Um sure." Said Yvette, as she looked at her watch. It said 11PM, so she still had a few minutes before she had to meet Fredrick at her place. "So when, are you going to show me your painting?"

"Soon." He replied as he smiled , and handed her the glass of water. "Just when I am about to finish it, and when it is ready for the final touch. Then my dear, I promise you'll be the first to see it."

"Well, I am honored." Yvette said as she returned his smile. She then took a sip of her water.

"Oh, by the way." He said to her. "I have some wonderful news. I just heard from the ballet company in Moscow. It seems that they have gotten wind of my new ending. As soon as the season here in Boston is over, they would like for me to perform in Moscow as Von Rothbart. Not only that, but they also want to use my new ending."

"That's incredible!" Proclaimed Yvette. "I am so happy for you!"

"I do however have one stipulation." He explained.

"Really?" She asked as she furrowed her brow at him. "What's that?"  She then took another sip of her water.

"That you come with me to perform as Odette." He told her, as he gleefully smiled.

"What?' She said as she began to choke on her water.

"Are you alright my dear?" He asked with a look of concern.

"Yes, I-a, I guess I wasn't expecting that." She replied.

"Why are you so surprised?"  He asked, as he held a look of confusion. "Did I not tell you that I would immortalize you as the Swan Queen?  Did I not tell the world that I had discovered the greatest Prima Ballerina of all time?"

"Well, yes." She replied. "I guess it's a lot to take in all at once. Especially since it can take years to get to that level in the ballet world. I mean, I'm still new to the world of professional ballet. Am I really ready for this?"

"And when the opportunity comes, should you let it pass you by?"  He said to her. "Both fame and opportunity can be fleeting."

"But I never had the goal to become famous."  She told him. "I dance because it is what I love, it is what I am."

"And that is what gives you the true soul of a dancer." He replied. "It is what sets you apart. That's what makes you the perfect Odette. As I had stated in the story, she too loved to dance. If I didn't know any better, I might think that you were her reincarnated."

"But she wasn't a real person." Said Yvette. "She was just a character in an old German fable."

"Maybe." He added. "But they say that all stories have some semblance of truth in them."

"Look, it's not that I don't want to take advantage of this opportunity." She explained. "Believe me, I do. It's just that this is a big decision to make all at once. I mean I am engaged."

"Oh." He stated inquisitively, as he folded his arms. "I thought you said that he was understanding, and supportive of your career."

"He is." She replied. "But we have made plans, and this could throw a monkey wrench into everything."

"If you truly believe that this man loves you, than he will understand what an amazing opportunity this will be."  He explained. "Tell me, if he was offered a job at one of the top medical institutions in the world, would he not take it?  Would you not be supportive?"
