***************************************"Medusa!" Michael exclaimed. "Lady, are you insane?" To his surprise, she just looked at him, and laughed.
"Oh believe me, I am perfectly sane." She answered as she had a cold smirk upon her face.
"If you're Medusa, then why haven't I been turned to stone?" He asked. "I mean I am staring right into your eyes. Shouldn't I be a statue by now?"
"Before I was a gorgon, I was human. Remember?" Cassandra replied. "I was a beautiful princess. Men everywhere desired me. Not just mortals, but even deities, and some of the gods themselves. In fact even Poseidon, the god of the sea, coveted me. So he raped me at the temple of Minerva. His niece Athena was outraged, but not with her uncle. She was outraged with me. So she turned my sisters, and me into gorgons. It was bad enough that she punished me, since I was the one who had been taken against my will. But she punished my sisters as well. Their only crime was standing with their sister."
"So why are you human now?" Michael asked.
"The demigod Perseus needed a gorgon's head, to turn the Kraken to stone." Cassandra answered. "I was the only one of my sisters who had been mortal, so I was the only one that the son of Zeus would have been able to kill. After Perseus had decapitated me, and used my head to destroy the Kraken—my head was then given to Athena, which she had displayed on her shield. But as stated before, I was mortal. So when I died, and my soul entered the underworld—I was forced to drink from the Lethe River. I have lived many lifetimes, but each lifetime Typhon has reminded me of who I once was. He promised me that if I would find him a vessel, that he would make me his queen. I would replace his beloved Echidna, and become the new mother of all monsters. And after many centuries, and many lifetimes—I have found you."
"Why me?" Micheal inquired.
"As I stated before, I needed someone who could have access to Pan's forest." Cassandra replied. "As powerful as Typhon is, he can only penetrate the force field surrounding the forest, if he has a connection to it. He knew that one day Pan would get lonely, and would take a companion. And Pan being Pan, wouldn't wait to see if the woman he had chosen was willing or not. Typhon knew that Pan would eventually bring a mortal woman into his secret paradise. The woman that Pan chose, has already been linked to you in a sacred ceremony. Once you become one with Typhon, he too shall be linked to her. And that combined with the power that Typhon already has, will give him access to Pan. Once Typhon does that, he and I will finally have our revenge against the Olympians."
"You're crazy!" Michael yelled. "Now tell me the truth! Where is Cora?"
"I just told you, she's with Pan." Cassandra replied. "I realize that you miss her. I realize that you are worried about your dear wife, but don't worry. Once you become one with Typhon, you'll have me. I will help you forget all about her. Because when this is all over, she will be dead."
"I swear if you hurt her!" Michael growled.
"Oh how sweet." Cassandra chuckled. "I can't wait until you have the same feelings towards me."
"I don't know where you get your fucked up thoughts, but I will never want you—let alone love you!" Michael exclaimed. "Let me go, you evil bitch! I need to find my wife!"
"Oh don't worry." Cassandra whispered. "You will be retrieving her soon enough. I think it's time to start the ceremony."
Michael's heart rate began to increase, as every muscle in his body began to stiffen. "What ceremony?" He asked, as his heart was gripped in fear.
