The year was 1996. It was Saturday, November 16th. Night was drawing closer as Hermione sat in the library trying to do research on this "Half Blood Prince". So far, she has found nothing, which frustrated her. The only thing that kept her calm was that she was all alone in the library. Being a prefect and head girl had its perks, she could stay out longer. She enjoyed the peace and quiet the library had at night. She was able to really concentrate on her work.

All the sudden, she could hear footsteps approaching the library. Thinking it was a Professor she turned around to greet them. She's surprised to see none other than Draco Malfoy standing in the arch way. He looks like he had been crying. Hermione was slightly worried about Draco this year; he just hasn't seemed like himself as of late. He just stood there gazing off into the distance, not noticing Hermione's presence sitting at the table nearby. At first, she thought of just ignoring him, but something told her that he needed help. She saved her spot in her books before clearing a spot next to her. She then clears her throat, "Draco?"

Draco jumps at the sudden voice and looks around to lock eyes with Hermione, "Oh. Granger."

"Are you ok?"

"Why do you care?", he scoffed.

"You look really upset. Do you need someone to talk to?"

Draco looked around for other people before slowly inching his way towards her. She smiles, "Draco, it's a Saturday night. We're in a Library. No one is here, and no one is coming."

"What about your daft boy toys?"

"Boy toys? Ew. Draco. I'm not with either of them. I'm trying to be nice here."

"Fine.", he spat before sitting next to her. Hermione starts putting her stuff away, so she won't have any distractions. She pulls out her wand which causes Draco to jump in fear. Hermione looks at him concerned, "Don't worry. I was just gonna get us tea. What kind would you prefer?"

"English. Why are you being so nice to me Granger?"

"Draco, times are tough lately. What's the point in feuding and hating you when it's clear to see that you have enough going on?" She waves her wand, and a tea set appears in front of them.

"Thank you." He said sheepishly.

Hermione nods as she pours him a cup, "Milk or sugar?"

"Two sugars please." He replies.

She puts in the two sugar cubes and hands him the cup, then pours her own, adding just a splash of milk and one sugar cube to it. They clink their cups together and nod at each other before taking a sip, a sign of respect toward each other. For in that moment, they were equals, Draco would not treat her any different then he would a friend. Hermione clears her throat, "So, what's going on? You've been acting very differently this year." Draco looks down to his tea trying to keep ahold of himself, "I can't tell anyone."

"I won't tell anyone."

"It's not that... I just can't...."

Hermione puts her tea down and touches his shoulder, "Is this about the furniture store?"

Draco looks up at her shocked and puts his tea down as well, "You saw?"

"Well, Harry saw. Said you were with your mother looking at a big black cabinet."

Draco puts his hands over his eyes, "I don't have a choice!"

"Draco?"

" I was chosen, I didn't ask for this!"

"Are you being forced to do something?"

Draco can't help but start crying, "I have to do this..."

Just as Hermione was about to speak again a deep voice came from the hall, "What is going on here?" Hermione looks over at the doorway to see her Current Dark Arts Professor, Professor Severus Snape. Severus walks up to them and use the Imperturbable Charm around them so no one could her them. He looks at Hermione angrily then turns his focus onto Draco, "What have you told her?"
